As a premier government institution in Madhya Pradesh, Government Holkar Science College provides extensive financial support through state and central government schemes. These scholarships often cover 100% of the tuition fees for eligible students.

 

Major State Government Scholarships

1. Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana (MMVY)

This is the most prominent scholarship for high-achieving students in Madhya Pradesh.

  • Award: Can cover 100% of the tuition fees. 

  • Eligibility:

    • Must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh. 

    • MP Board: Minimum 70% in Class 12. 

    • CBSE/ICSE: Minimum 85% in Class 12. 

    • Income Limit: Annual family income must be below Rs.6 Lakh (recently confirmed for 2026).

2. Post-Matric Scholarships (SC/ST/OBC)

These are category-based financial aids intended to support students from marginalized backgrounds.

  • Award: Varies by category, often covering full fees and providing a small monthly maintenance allowance.

  • OBC Criteria: Family income must be under Rs.3 Lakh per annum. 

  • SC/ST Criteria: Family income must typically be under Rs.6 Lakh (with higher relaxations in specific cases).

3. Schemes for Female Students

  • Gaon Ki Beti Yojana: For girl students from rural areas who scored 60% or above in Class 12. Award is Rs.500 per month for 10 months.

  • Pratibha Kiran Scholarship: Similar to Gaon Ki Beti, but specifically for girls living in urban areas from BPL (Below Poverty Line) families who scored 60% or above in Class 12.

National Level Scholarships

INSPIRE Scholarship (SHE)

Managed by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, this is specifically for students pursuing Basic and Natural Sciences (B.Sc./M.Sc.).

  • Award: Rs.80,000 per year (Rs.60,000 cash + Rs.20,000 mentorship grant).

  • Eligibility: Students must be in the top 1% of their respective Class 12 board results.

  • Duration: Supported for a maximum of 5 years.
