Gujarat University strives to inspire students to work hard and love reading by providing scholarships to members of the lower backward class or SC/ST for better education and financial support. Gujarat University offers more than 30 scholarship programs that the Gujarati government has started.
In order to foster high-quality research, the Gujarati government launched the SHODH (system of developing high-quality research) program, which offers financial aid to students conducting qualitative research. during 1000 full-time research fellows have received 15,000 per month plus 20,000 in contingency expenses annually under this program during the past five years. Gujarat University also provides higher education assistance to students under the Mukhymantri Yuva Swavlamban Yojana.
