H L College of Commerce Scholarships & Eligibility

H L College of Commerce (HLCC) facilitates a variety of scholarships to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder meritorious students. Since the college is a Grant-in-Aid institution under the Ahmedabad Education Society (AES), students can access extensive government support alongside institutional aid.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, students can apply for the following major scholarship categories:

Institutional & Private Aid

HLCC and its parent body, the Ahmedabad Education Society (AES), offer specific internal awards to reward excellence and support those in need.

  • AES "Means-Blind" Policy: The society maintains that no meritorious student should be deprived of education. Students who do not qualify for government schemes but face extreme financial hardship can approach the Principal for AES Financial Aid. 

  • Merit Scholarships: Cash awards and certificates are presented annually to the top three rank holders of FY, SY, and TY B.Com in the university examinations. 

  • M. G. Shah Scholarship: A specific endowment for low-income students in the General category who have secured at least 60% in their previous exams. 

  • Cultural & Sports Awards: Students representing the college at the West Zone or National level in sports (like Cricket or Athletics) or cultural events are often granted fee waivers or cash incentives during the Annual Function.

Government Scholarships (via Digital Gujarat)

Most financial aid is administered through the Digital Gujarat Portal. These are credited directly to students via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
