Guru Nanak University (GNU) Application/Admission Process

Located in Ibrahimpatnam, Hyderabad, Telangana, Guru Nanak University (GNU) is a premier private university established under the Telangana Private Universities Act. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across Engineering, Computer Applications, Management, Allied Health Sciences, Life Sciences, and Humanities.

The university follows a structured, transparent, and candidate-friendly admission framework for the 2026–2027 academic session.

Admission Process

Admissions at Guru Nanak University are conducted primarily through two streams: Merit-Based Direct Admission (based on qualifying examination scores) and Entrance-Based Admission (utilizing national and state-level entrance test scores).

  • Step 1: Registration & Online Application: Candidates must visit the official university admission portal (gnuindia.org) and fill out the online application form with personal, contact, and academic details.
  • Step 2: Submission of Academic Credentials: Applicants upload scanned copies of their mark sheets, certificates, and entrance test scorecards (TG EAPCET, TS ICET, JEE Main, GATE, etc., where applicable).
  • Step 3: Screening & Merit List Generation: The GNU Admission Cell evaluates incoming applications. Merit lists are prepared based on aggregate marks in qualifying exams or rank obtained in standardized tests.
  • Step 4: Provisional Seat Allotment & Counseling: Shortlisted applicants receive a provisional offer letter or counseling invitation (online or offline at the Hyderabad campus/administrative office).
  • Step 5: Document Verification & Fee Payment: Candidates confirm their seat by verifying their original credentials and remitting the prescribed tuition and admission fees within the given deadline.
