IIT Vadodara - Indian Institute of Information Technology Scholarships & Eligibility

The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Vadodara, follows the standard scholarship model for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) IIITs. While the institute does not offer direct internal fee waivers or private scholarships, it fully facilitates and assists students in securing funding from Central and State government schemes.

1. Central Government Scholarships

These are available via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and are primarily category- or merit-based.

Top Class Education for SC/ST Students: This is the most significant scholarship for B.Tech students. It covers full tuition fees, a computer/laptop grant (one-time), a monthly living stipend, and a book grant.
- Eligibility: Family income must be below Rs.8 Lakhs per annum.
Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship: Directed toward students from minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi).
- Eligibility: Family income below Rs.2.5 Lakhs per annum and a minimum of 50% in the previous exam.
Central Sector Scheme for University Students: Based on performance in the Class 12 board exams (top 20th percentile)

2. Gujarat State Scholarships (Domicile Based)

Since the institute is located in Gujarat, residents of the state can access robust financial aid from the state government.

MYSY (Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana):
- Benefit: Provides up to Rs.50,000 per year for B.Tech tuition fees and a hostel grant of Rs.1,200/month.
- Eligibility: Students must have scored 80 percentile or above in Class 12 (Science/General) from a recognized board in Gujarat and have a family income below Rs.6 Lakhs.
Digital Gujarat Portal Scholarships: Includes Post-Matric scholarships for SC, ST, and SEBC (OBC) students of Gujarat.

3. Support for Postgraduates & Researchers

GATE Stipend (M.Tech): Regular full-time students with a valid GATE score receive a monthly stipend of Rs.12,400 as per AICTE norms.
Fellowships (Ph.D.): Full-time research scholars receive a fellowship of Rs.37,000 – Rs.42,000 per month (based on JRF/SRF status) along with contingency grants.

4. Education Loans (Collateral-Free)

Because IIIT Vadodara is an Institute of National Importance, it is pre-approved for premier education loan schemes. Students can often secure loans without collateral and at lower interest rates.

SBI Scholar Loan Scheme: Specially tailored for premier institutes like IIITs.
PNB Pratibha: A specialized loan product for students of top-tier technical institutions.
Vidya Lakshmi Portal: A single-window platform for students to apply for education loans and scholarships from various banks.
