IIT Vadodara - Indian Institute of Information Technology Admissions Details

IIT Vadodara - Indian Institute of Information Technology Application/Admission Process

Admission to the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Vadodara, and its International Campus in Diu (IIITV-ICD) is entirely entrance-based. The institute does not offer direct admissions or lateral entry; all seats are filled through centralized national counseling.

1. Undergraduate (B.Tech) Admission

The B.Tech admission process is consistent for both the main Gandhinagar/Vadodara campus and the Diu satellite campus.

  • Entrance Exam: Candidates must secure a valid All India Rank (AIR) in the JEE Main 2026.

Eligibility: Minimum 75% aggregate marks in Class 12 (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or being in the top 20 percentile of the respective board.

Counseling Process:

  • JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority): Standard rounds of seat allotment starting in June 2026.
  • CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board): Special rounds conducted to fill vacant seats after JoSAA rounds conclude.

DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad): International students and NRIs can apply based on SAT scores or equivalent international certifications through the DASA portal.

2. Postgraduate (M.Tech) Admission

  • Entrance Exam: Admission is based on the GATE 2026 score.

  • Counseling: Conducted through CCMT (Centralized Counselling for M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan).

  • Timeline: Registration for CCMT typically starts in May 2026, with seat allotment rounds continuing through June.

  • Non-GATE Category: If seats remain vacant, the institute may conduct its own entrance test and interview for self-sponsored or non-GATE candidates.

3. MCA Admission

  • Entrance Exam: Candidates must appear for NIMCET 2026.

  • Process: Seat allotment is handled through the centralized NIMCET counseling. For the 2026 cycle, the NIMCET exam is scheduled for June 6, 2026.

4. Ph.D. Admission (Autumn 2026–27)

IIIT Vadodara offers both full-time and part-time Ph.D. programs with a specific selection timeline.

  • Eligibility: Master's degree in relevant areas with a minimum 6.5 CPI/CGPA (6.0 for SC/ST/PwD).
