IIT Lucknow - Indian Institute of Information Technology Application/Admission Process

Admission to the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Lucknow, is purely merit-based and follows a centralized counseling process conducted by the Government of India. There is no management quota or direct institutional application for the B.Tech programs.

1. Undergraduate (B.Tech) Admission

The admission for B.Tech is handled through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).

  • Entrance Exam: Candidates must appear for the JEE Mainand secure a valid All India Rank (AIR). 

  • Eligibility:

    • Minimum 75% aggregate marks in Class 12 (65% for SC/ST/PwD) OR being in the top 20 percentile of the respective board. 

    • Compulsory subjects: Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology.

  • Counseling Process:

    • JoSAA: Six rounds of centralized counseling for seat allocation.

    • CSAB Special Rounds: Conducted after JoSAA to fill any remaining vacant seats. 

    • Counselling Code: Use the choice-filling code for IIIT Lucknow during registration.

2. Postgraduate (M.Tech) Admission

M.Tech admissions focus on specialized technical competence.

  • Entrance Exam: Candidates must have a valid GATE score in a relevant discipline. 

  • Counseling: Admission is conducted via CCMT (Centralized Counselling for M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan). 

  • Eligibility: Usually requires a B.E./B.Tech degree with a minimum of 60% (or 6.5 CGPA).

MBA (Digital Business) Admission

The MBA program at IIIT Lucknow has a unique "Digital Business" focus.

  • Entrance Exam: Valid scores in CUET-PG are required.

  • Selection: Shortlisted candidates are called for a Personal Interview (PI). 

  • Eligibility: A Bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD).
