The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Lucknow, being an Institute of National Importance, enables its students to access a wide range of prestigious Central and State Government scholarship schemes. While the institute itself primarily facilitates the application process rather than offering private internal funds, the available government support can cover up to 100% of the tuition fees for eligible students.

1. Central Government Scholarships

These are hosted on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and are available to students across India based on merit and category.

Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students: Provides full tuition fee waiver, a living expense allowance of Rs.3,000/month, and a one-time book grant of Rs.5,000 for students whose family income is below Rs.8 Lakhs.
National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST Students: Similar to the SC scheme, this covers the full tuition fee and provides a monthly stipend for eligible Scheduled Tribe students.
Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship: Available for students from Minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi) with a family income below Rs.2.5 Lakhs.
Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship: For students who were in the top 20th percentile in their Class 12 board exams.

2. State Government Scholarships

Since the institute is located in Uttar Pradesh, a significant portion of the student body utilizes state-specific financial aid.

UP Post-Matric Scholarship: Available for General, OBC, SC, and ST students who are residents of Uttar Pradesh. This is one of the most common scholarships used at the institute.
Other State Scholarships: Students from states like Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and West Bengal can apply for their respective state's "Post-Matric" or "Medhavi Chhatra" scholarship portals (e.g., MP's Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojna).

3. Support for M.Tech & Ph.D. Students

Higher education research is heavily incentivized through monthly stipends:

GATE Stipend: M.Tech students with a valid GATE score receive Rs.12,400 per month as per AICTE norms.
Research Fellowship (Ph.D.): Regular full-time Ph.D. scholars receive a fellowship of Rs.37,000 to Rs.42,000 per month (plus HRA if applicable) for the duration of their research.

4. Education Loans (Vidya Lakshmi Portal)

For students who do not qualify for scholarships but require financial assistance:

IIIT Lucknow is recognized by major nationalized banks (SBI, PNB, Bank of Baroda).
Being a premier institute, students can often secure collateral-free loans of up to Rs.20 Lakhs – Rs.30 Lakhs with competitive interest rates.
