Indian Institute of Information Technology Scholarships & Eligibility

The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Nagpur does not offer direct institutional scholarships from its own funds. However, the institute actively facilitates access to various Central and State Government scholarship schemes to support students financially.

Most students apply through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) or their respective state's dedicated portals (like MahaDBT for Maharashtra).

1. Central Government Scholarships (NSP)

These are available to students across India based on merit and income criteria:

  • Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship: For students with 80% or higher in Class 12. It typically provides ?12,000 per year for the first three years and ?20,000 in the final year. 

  • Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Minorities: Aimed at students from Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Parsi communities with a family income below ?2.5 lakh. 

  • Top Class Education for SC/ST Students: Provides full tuition fee reimbursement and a maintenance allowance for eligible students.

  • Scholarships for Students with Disabilities: For those with at least 40% disability and a family income within prescribed limits. 

2. State Government Scholarships

Students can apply for scholarships offered by their home state. Examples include:

  • Maharashtra (MahaDBT):

    • SC/ST Students: Often eligible for a 100% tuition fee waiver (Freeship).

    • OBC/VJNT/SBC Students: May receive up to a 50% tuition fee waiver depending on family income.

  • Other States: Students from states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh (MMVY), and Andhra Pradesh can apply for their respective state's post-matric scholarship schemes while studying at IIIT Nagpur. 

3. Private Scholarships

Students may also apply for external private foundation grants, such as:

  • Foundation for Excellence (FFE) 

  • Reliance Foundation Scholarships 

  • Mahindra All India Talent Scholarship
