Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru – Scholarships

  • Scholarships/Fellowships are granted to eligible and deserving students from the date of joining the Institute from CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/HRD/AICTE/DAE (NBHM)/DST depending on their mode of entry (except M.Sc and M.Mgt programs).
  • Post-joining the Institute, students desirous of availing of scholarship/fellowship must submit their joining report to the concerned Authorities/Agencies for activating the same.
  • Candidates of M.Tech/M.Des who availed of scholarship/fellowship must agree and assure that they would not leave the Programme/Course midway. Non-compliance with this agreement for any reason, the student concerned must refund the entire scholarship drawn before leaving the institute.
  • Salaried candidates/Sponsors are not entitled to grants of scholarships/fellowships.
  • Scholarship granted shall be for a period of 2 years maximum for M.Tech/M.Des/M.Tech (Res) and fellowship of 5 years for Ph.D.Programs.
  • Scholarships from GE/INFOSYS/IBM/HP/TATA/PHILIPS/BELL LAB/MICROSOFT/Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DietY) are also available for eligible and deserving candidates.
  • Scholarships shall not be granted to candidates admitted to M.Sc/M.Mgt programs.
