Institute of Advanced Study In Education Scholarships & Eligibility

As a government institution, the Institute of Advanced Study in Education (IASE), Saidapet, provides access to several state and central government scholarship schemes. These are primarily designed to support students from economically weaker sections and reserved categories pursuing B.Ed, M.Ed, and research programs.

Tamil Nadu State Government Scholarships

Most students at IASE Saidapet benefit from these schemes based on their community and family income.

Post-Matric SC/ST/SCC Scholarship

SC/ST/Converted Christian students; Annual family income below Rs.2.5 Lakhs.

Full tuition fee waiver + maintenance allowance (Rs.18,000 – Rs.25,000/year).

BC/MBC/DNC Scholarship

Students from these categories; Annual family income below Rs.2.5 Lakhs.

Tuition fee reimbursement (Rs.5,000 – Rs. 11,000/year).

Pudhumai Penn Thittam

Girl students who studied in Govt. schools from Classes 6 to 12.

Rs.1,000 per month throughout the course.

First Graduate Scholarship

For students who are the first in their family to pursue a degree (via counseling).

Significant reduction in tuition fees (up to Rs.20,000+ depending on the year).

 Central Government Scholarships (NSP)

Students can also apply via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for central schemes:

    • Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship: Available for students who scored above the 80th percentile in their Class 12 exams with a family income below Rs.4.5 Lakhs.
    • Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities: For Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Parsi students with at least 50% marks in the previous exam and family income below Rs.2 Lakhs.
    • Scholarships for Differently Abled Students: Students with more than 40% disability can receive specialized financial aid (Rs.12,000/year).

  • Special Research & Internship Stipends

    • Ph.D. Research Fellowship: Full-time Ph.D. scholars may be eligible for the Tamil Nadu Government Research Fellowship or UGC-NET JRF/SRF stipends.

    • Internship Stipend: During the mandatory school internship period for B.Ed students, some government cycles provide a monthly stipend (historically around Rs.1,200 – Rs.2,000), though this varies by the current academic year's policy.
