K.P.B. Hinduja College of Commerce Admissions Details

K.P.B. Hinduja College of Commerce Application/Admission Process

K.P.B. Hinduja College of Commerce, a premier Autonomous institution in South Mumbai, offers merit-based admissions to its diverse undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs. Affiliated with the University of Mumbai, the college has streamlined its admission process to align with both university regulations and its own autonomous status, ensuring a transparent and efficient transition for aspiring students.

The admission cycle is primarily focused on qualifying examination merit, with a dedicated process for in-house students, minority candidates, and outsiders. The college has adopted a "Digital First" approach, requiring all applicants to complete both University of Mumbai and college-level online registrations.

Admission Process

The admission journey at K.P.B. Hinduja College is highly structured and follows these essential steps:

  • University Pre-Enrollment: Every applicant must first register on the University of Mumbai (Samarth) portal. This is a mandatory prerequisite to obtain a unique application number.

  • College Portal Registration: Following university registration, students must register on the K.P.B. Hinduja College Admission Portal. Candidates must fill in academic details and select their desired programs (Autonomous nomenclature).

  • Form Submission & Fee: Applicants must upload their University Pre-enrollment form and pay a processing fee of INR 400 to complete the merit/admission form.

  • Merit List Publication: For most UG and PG programs, the college releases sequential merit lists based on academic performance. Shortlisted candidates receive notification via the website and SMS.

  • Online Verification & Approval: The college staff verifies the uploaded documents online. Once approved, the candidate receives an "Approval SMS" to proceed with fee payment.

  • Final Fee Payment: To secure the seat, students must pay the admission fees online through the college portal, typically within 24 hours of receiving approval.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following minimum academic standards set by the University of Mumbai and the college's autonomous council:

  • F.Y.B.Com (Regular/SFC): Completion of 10+2 (Higher Secondary) in any stream from a recognized board. While the minimum pass is 45%, competitive programs often see cut-offs ranging from 65% to 85%.
