Karpagam Institute of Technology Application/Admission Process

Admissions for the Karpagam Institute of Technology (KIT) in Coimbatore for the 2026–27 academic session are primarily conducted through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) process.

1. Admission Pathways

  • Government Quota: Seats are filled through the TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) counseling based on the marks obtained in the Higher Secondary (10+2) examinations. 

  • Management Quota: A percentage of seats are filled directly by the institution based on merit and an internal selection process.

2. Eligibility Criteria

  • Academic Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 (HSC) or equivalent examination. 

  • Subject Requirements: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) are compulsory subjects. 

  • Minimum Marks:

    • General Category: 45% aggregate in PCM.

    • Reserved Categories (BC/BCM/MBC/DNC/SC/SCA/ST): 40% aggregate in PCM.

3. TNEA 2026 Important Dates (Tentative)

The TNEA process is the standard route for most engineering aspirants in Tamil Nadu.

  • Online Registration Starts- May 2026
  • Last Date to Apply- June 2026
  • Publication of Rank List- Late June 2026
  • Counseling for Special Categories- July 2026
  • General Counseling (Online)- July – August 2026

Application Process

  1. Registration: For TNEA, apply via the official TNEA portal. For management seats, contact the college directly or apply via the KIT official website.

  2. Document Upload: You will need to upload your 10th and 12th mark sheets, Transfer Certificate (TC), Community Certificate (if applicable), and Nativity Certificate. 

  3. Random Number & Rank List: TNEA assigns a random number to resolve ties, followed by a rank list based on your cut-off score.

  4. Choice Filling: During counseling, you must select "Karpagam Institute of Technology" (College Code: 2735) and your preferred branch.
