National Institute of Design (NID) Application/Admission Process

Online Registration:

  • Candidates need to visit the official NID admissions portal – admissions.nid.edu.
  • Register by providing a valid email and mobile number.
  • Fill out the application form, upload required documents, and pay the application fee.

Application Deadline: December 3, 2024.

Admit Card: Download the admit card from the admissions portal before the exam date.

Entrance Exam: NID DAT

Stage 1: DAT Prelims

  • Pen-and-paper test assessing design aptitude, creativity, and problem-solving.
  • Scheduled for January 5, 2025.

Stage 2: DAT Mains

  • Studio test and interview for shortlisted candidates.
  • Scheduled between April 26 and May 4, 2025.

Selection & Admission:

  • Merit List: Based on combined scores from DAT Prelims and Mains, with category-wise lists.
  • Seat Allotment: Allotment based on merit rank, category, campus preference, and seat availability. Candidates must confirm their seat by paying a non-refundable token fee and uploading required documents within the stipulated time.
  • Final Admission: Confirmed after document verification and payment of the first-semester fee (?2,13,500 for B. Des).
