Punjab Agricultural University Scholarships & Eligibility

Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, offers a mix of merit-based, need-based, and ICAR-linked scholarships for UG, PG, and PhD students.

Postgraduate Scholarships/Fellowships

University Fellowships: One fellowship 2000/- per month shall be awarded for the first 7 students in each discipline of M.Sc./MBA/M.Tech. and one additional fellowship for every 7 additional students or a part thereof, provided the number of students is not less than three.

ICAR Scholarships: The ICAR awards National Talent Scholarships for its nominees, based on ICAR AIEEA PG conducted by the ICAR/NTA, for postgraduate programmes for full degree duration subject to fulfilment of prescribed conditions. The value of scholarship is `5000/- p.m. The ICAR also awards its nominees ICAR PG Scholarship 12,640/- p.m. + Contingency 6,000/- per annum to masters’ student based on AICE conducted by the ICAR.

Mrs Jaswant Kaur Bindra w/o Dr Onkar Singh Bindra Scholarship: This scholarship 3000/- per month plus contingency grant of 5000/- per annum is awarded to one M.Sc. student with the highest rank in the admission list from the discipline of Entomology.

Merit-cum-Means fellowship: The fellowship amount is 1000/- per month per student. This fellowship is awarded to 10% of the students admitted in self-supporting programmes.

Sh. Jarnail Singh Basi Memorial Fellowship: This fellowship 3000/- per month is awarded to one M.Sc. (Agri.) student on merit basis.

Dr G S Grewal Memorial Fellowship: This fellowship 2000/- per month is awarded to two M.Sc. students on merit basis (one each from 1st and 2nd year) from the discipline of Chemistry.

Dr S S Guraya Memorial Fellowship : This fellowship 1500/- per month is awarded to two M.Sc. students on merit basis (one each from 1st and 2nd year) from the discipline of Zoology.

Doctoral Fellowships

University Fellowships: One Senior Fellowship @ 3000/- per month in each discipline of Ph.D Programme.

ICAR Scholarships : The ICAR awards its nominees ICAR-JRF/SRF @ `31,000/-p.m. for first 2 years and 35000/- p.m. from the third yearto doctoral degree students alongwith contingency grant of Rs.10,000/- per annum based on AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) conducted by the ICAR/NTA.
