School of Legal Studies - Application /Admission Process

The School of Legal Studies (SLS) at CUSAT, Kochi, welcomes candidates seeking degrees in graduation, postgraduation, or Ph.D. in the legal field. Admission to SLS CUSAT's various courses mandates that candidates pass an entrance examination and secure a position on the rank list.

For entry into the LLB, BCom LLB (Hons), and BBA LLB (Hons) programs, aspirants must successfully pass the CUSAT-CAT. This requirement also extends to the LLM course at SLS CUSAT. Prospective Ph.D. students must undergo both an entrance examination and an interview. The comprehensive admission procedure for SLS CUSAT's programs is elaborated upon below.

Admission Procedure For BBA LLB, BCom LLB, LLB

Applicants are required to fulfill the eligibility criteria prior to applying for the SLS CUSAT undergraduate courses (LLB/ BCom LLB(H)/ BBA LLB (H)).

Applicants must complete their registration online via the CUSAT Kochi admission portal and sit for the CUSAT-CAT (Common Admission Test). The portal will then generate a rank list of the qualified candidates.

Those selected must opt for their preferred SLS CUSAT LLB course and carry out the document verification process.

Upon successful document verification and payment of the SLS CUSAT fees, applicants will be admitted.

LLM Admission Process

To apply for the LLM program, candidates need to fulfill the SLS CUSAT LLM eligibility criteria and register on the admission portal.

Applicants must complete their registration online through the CUSAT Kochi admission portal and take the CUSAT-CAT (Common Admission Test). Candidates who score well on the CAT will be shortlisted for a group discussion and interview.

The portal will display a rank list of candidates who have qualified. Those selected must then undergo document verification.

Candidates who successfully verify their documents and pay the admission fees will be admitted to the program.

PhD Admission Process-

Application forms for the Ph.D. Programme are available at the SLS Office and must be submitted there within the deadline specified in the CAT notification. Admissions will be conducted through a Departmental Admission Test (DAT) followed by an interview, which will focus on the research proposal.
