For the 2026 academic session, Sibsagar University (formerly Sibsagar College) has streamlined its admission processes for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and B.Ed. programs.

1. Undergraduate (FYUGP) Admissions

Admissions for the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) are primarily managed through the Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal (Samarth).

  • Process: Applicants must register and apply through the Samarth Portal.

  • Spot Admission: For the 2026 session, spot admissions for vacant seats were held from June 15 to June 17, 2026.

  • Requirements: You must produce your original documents (Class XII marksheet, proof of date of birth, caste/income certificates, etc.) for physical verification at the university campus when required.

2. Postgraduate (PG) Admissions

For the Two-Year Post Graduate Programme (TYPGP) in subjects like Assamese, Economics, English, History, Mathematics, Physics, Botany, Zoology, MCA, and LLM:

  • Application: Applications are processed through the official Sibsagar University portal.

  • Entrance Test: Admission is based on an entrance test (50 MCQs). The test for the 2026 session was scheduled for June 24, 2026.

  • Merit List: Merit lists are published on the official university website. Successful candidates proceed to offline document verification and admission at the university premises.

3. B.Ed. Admissions

  • Eligibility: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with at least 50% marks (55% for Engineering/Technology graduates). A 5% relaxation is available for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

  • Selection: Based on a composite score of an offline Entrance Test (60% weightage) and career performance (40% weightage).

  • Timeline: The Entrance Test for 2026 was scheduled for June 28, 2026, with results expected on July 12, 2026.
