University of Science & Technology Application/Admission Process

UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY MEGHALAYA ADMISSIONS

Admissions to the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) for the 2025-26 session are open for Diploma, Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), and Ph.D. programmes. Applications can be submitted online via the university website and involve both merit-based and entrance test-based selection processes depending on the course chosen.

Submission of Application Form for UG and PG Programme:

The Apply Online link on the university's website, "www.ustm.ac.in," can be used to submit an online application. A candidate can submit the complete application form in many steps by using the "ustmentrar.com/login" page on this link. Credit cards, debit cards, or net banking can be used to pay the mandatory application cost of Rs. 1000 (Rs. 1500 for an MBA and Rs. 2000 for a Ph.D.).

Submission of Ph.D. program application forms:

You can get the application form and general requirements for admission to the Ph. D. program from the USTM website at www.ustm.ac.in. The completed application form and a demand draft for Rs. 2000 drawn in USTM's favor must be delivered to the USTM Registrar's office.

Documents Required At The Time of Admission:

The marksheets/certificate in accordance with the eligibility requirements for admission as mentioned in the prospectus.
Proof of age, based on the certificate of High School /Secondary School or an equivalent examination.
Character Certificate from the institution last attended.
Proof of entitlement for reserved category issued by the competent authority.
No objection Certificate from present employer if any.
In case an intervening period / gap is involved an affidavit from Notary Public for the entire intervening period/gap showing candidate’s pre occupation and non-indulgence in any criminal activities after leaving the Institution last attended will be required.
Proof of permanent address as declared in the Application Form.

Selection Procedure

For Diploma, UG and PG Programmes (Except MBA, B.Ed, B.Pharm, D.Pharm, B.Tech. & Ph.D) : Admission will be based on Merit (percentage secured in last qualifying examination) and Personal Interview or CUET Score.

For MBA Programme : Admission will be based on written test (USTM-CAT) followed by personal interview (PI) and Group discussion (GD). Candidates having valid scorecard of CAT/MAT/XMAT etc. will be exempted from USTM-CAT and such candidate may directly appear for PI and GD. The final merit list for admission in MBA will be prepared considering percentage of marks in the qualifying examination, score of USTM-CAT/MAT/CAT/XMAT and marks obtain in PI and GD.

For B.Ed, B.Pharm, D.Pharm, B.Tech. Programme: Admission will be based on the entrance test followed by personal interview (PI).

For Ph.D. Programme: Admission will be based on Written Test followed by Personal Interview/ Presentation.

B.Sc Biotechnology	HS (10+2) Science with Chemistry/Physics/Biology/Mathematics securing 45% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for Reserved Categories)
B.Sc Microbiology/B.Sc Food and Science Technology	HS (10+2) Science with Chemistry / Physics/ Biology/Mathematics/ Computer Science securing 45% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for Reserved Categories)
B.Sc Botany/ B.Sc Zoology	HS (10+2) Science with Biology securing 45% marks in aggregate(5% relaxation for Reserved Categories).
B.Com (H)/BBA/B.A/BSW/B.A.LLB	HS/10+2 in any stream securing 45% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for reserved categories).
BCA	HS(10+2) with Mathematics securing 45% marks in aggregate(5% relaxation for Reserved Categories). N.B.: Applicants without Mathematics will have to undergo foundation course.
BPT/BPT L.E	HS (10+2) Science with Biology/ Chemistry / Physics / Mathematics / Computer Science securing 45% marks in aggregate ( 5% relaxation for Reserved Categories).
LLB	Any graduate with at least 45% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for reserved categories).
B.Ed	Any Graduate with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for reserved category)
M.Sc	B.Sc with Mathematics / Chemistry / Physics/Statistics as honours Subject, along with any two of the following as subsidiary subjects: (i) Physics (ii) Mathematics (iii) Biotechnology (iv) Chemistryand (v) Statistics with 45% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for Reserved Categories).
M.A	BA/B.Sc in Economics with at least 45% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for reserved categories).
M.Com	Bachelor degree in commerce stream securing 45% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for reserved categories).
MBA	Any Graduate with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for reserved category)
MHA	MBBS/BDS/BPT/Allied Medical Degree & other Bachelor Degree with 50% aggregate marks (5% relaxation for reserved categories)
MCA/M.LI.Sc/MSW	Graduation in any discipline with 45% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for Reserved categories)
LLM	Any Law graduate with at least 50% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for reserved categories).
M.A International relations	Graduate with 45% marks in any discipline (5% relaxation for reserved categories)
MPT	The candidates who have passed full time BPT degree with the duration of study of 4 years from any University in India or abroad considered equivalent with not less than 50% of marks are eligible for admission. The candidate must have also completed 6 months of compulsory rotatory internship.
Diploma in Pharmacy /DMLT	HS (10+2) Science with Chemistry / Physics / Biology/ Mathematics/Biotechnology/Computer Science securing 50% marks in aggregate (5% relaxation for Reserved Categories).
