Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, often abbreviated as Vel Tech, is a private institution located in Avadi, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Founded in 1997 by Dr. R. Rangarajan and Dr. Sagunthala Rangarajan, it initially began as an engineering college before being recognized as a deemed university in 2008. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across disciplines including engineering, management, media technology, and law.
Vel Tech has received approval from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and the University Grants Commission (UGC).
