HPTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) shall be conducted for the following Teaching Categories:

Educational Qualification

For TGT (Arts): Candidates should have B.A /B.com with an aggregate of 50% marks/Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4 years  Bachelor in Elementary Education

For TGT (Non-Medical): Candidates should have B.Sc. (NM) with at least 50% marks and 1 year of Bachelor in Education/Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4 years of Bachelor in Elementary Education

For TGT (Medical): Candidates should have B.Sc. with at least 50% marks and 1 year of Bachelor in Education/ Senior Secondary  with at least 50% marks and 4 Years of Bachelor in Elementary education/ B.Sc (Medical)

For Shastri: Candidates should have Shastri with at least 50% marks from an institution/university recognized by HP Government

For Language Teacher: Candidates should have B.A with Hindi as an elective subject and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education

For Junior Basic Training: Must possess 10+2 with an aggregate of 50% marks and 2 years JBT Certificate course/ Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education/Graduation with 2 years Diploma

For Punjabi Language Teacher: Candidates should have B.A with Punjabi as an Elective subject and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education

For Urdu Language Teacher: B.A with Urdu as an Elective subject and 2 years Diploma in Elementary education

Age Limit

There is no upper age limit to apply for the TET. The age criteria are to be considered by the appointing authority at the time of appointment as per R & P Rules.

HPTET 2024 Exam Pattern

There shall be one question paper in four different series having questions of multiple-choice/objective type, carrying 150 questions of one mark each to be attempted within 150 minutes.

HPTET 2024 Syllabus

Paper I Syllabus: To become teachers for classes I-V in Himachal Pradesh Primary School the test will be based on child psychology, development, pedagogy, and teaching-learning processes and will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group 06 to 11 years.

Paper II Syllabus: To become teachers for classes between VI and VIII in Himachal Pradesh upper Primary School test will be based on child psychology, development, pedagogy, and teaching-learning processes and will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group 11 to 14 years.

Paper I and II: For those candidates who are interested in teaching from Class I to VIII. They can appear for both papers and have to get qualifying marks to be considered for all the classes.

HPTET 2024 Admit Card

Admit card is a mandatory document that can be downloaded from the official website and should be kept safely until the time of admission procedure. Admit cards will release tentatively in the month of May 2024 prior to 5 days before the examination.

HPTET 2024 Result

The result for the HP TET 2024 Exam will also be declared after a few days before the exam which is around the 2nd week of November 2024. To be HPTET qualified, the candidates have to score equal to or more than 60% marks of the total marks in the exam.
