Admissions, quotas to stay in Seemandhra, Telangana for 10 years

On 18th May, Governor E S L Narasimhan approved the expenditure fund for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states for a period of four months, from June 2nd, 2014. He also approved the common admission procedure and continuation of various quotas in higher educational institutions for the next 10 years, beginning from June 2nd, 2014.

Accordingly, Andhra Pradesh has been allotted a budget of Rs. 34,595 crore and Telangana Rs. 26,516 crore. AP's budget includes Rs. 28,626 crore revenue budgets and Rs. 3,882 crore capital budgets while the Telangana budget includes Rs. 21,295 crore revenue budget and Rs. 3,046 crore capital budget.

The vote-on-account budget of the united state, approved in March, has been divided between Telangana and AP states, and will be applicable for four months till October 2nd. However, the respective state governments can table their full-fledged budgets in their respective Legislative Assemblies after formation of governments in both states. Mr Narasimhan held a high level meeting with senior officials of the state administration on Sunday to complete the bifurcation related formalities.
