VITEEE 2026, conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology, requires candidates to fulfil a set of academic, age, and nationality requirements to be eligible for the B.Tech admission process. Understanding the VITEEE 2026 eligibility criteria ensures that applicants meet the minimum standards needed for application and selection.

VITEEE 2026: General Eligibility Criteria

  • The eligibility for VITEEE 2026 includes several mandatory conditions regarding nationality, age, educational qualifications, and marks in the qualifying examination:
  • Nationality:Applicants must be Resident Indians, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.
  • Age Limit:Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after July 1, 2004, are eligible to apply for VITEEE 2026. The official date of birth as recorded on the Class 10/High School certificate will be considered authentic.
  • Educational Qualification:The applicant must have either passed or be appearing in 2026 for their 10+2, or equivalent, from a recognized board (e.g., CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, International Baccalaureate, Cambridge, NIOS), with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology as compulsory subjects.

Minimum Marks and Category Relaxation:

  • General Category:A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying exam is required.
  • SC/ST and Special Region Candidates:Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories and students from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and the North Eastern states (such as Assam, Manipur, Tripura, etc.) need only a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the same subjects.

Note: The eligibility criteria for VITEEE 2026 is also dependent on having completed regular, full-time formal education. Students from Open School or private study routes are not eligible unless registered under NIOS with relevant certificates.

Specific Course Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates with Mathematics:Eligible for all B.Tech programmes.
  • Candidates with Biology:Eligible only for select streams such as B.Tech Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Health Sciences, and a select few others. Mathematics is required in the bridging course if allotted.

Additional Requirements for VITEEE 2026:

  • All candidates must appear for VITEEE 2026 for admission consideration.
  • At the time of counseling, original documents such as mark sheets and certificates must be produced for verification.
  • For the equivalence of marks for Boards providing grades/CGPA, candidates must provide an official conversion certificate at the time of counseling.
