JEE Main- Different sets for different dates

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains is just eight days away from today and the CBSE has informed all the 13 lakh aspirants on the dos and don?ts for the all important national exam. As the test is conducted in both pen and paper mode and computer-based mode, it stated that different sets of question papers will be used on multiple exam dates. It may be known that the pen and paper mode exam will be conducted on April 6 whereas the computer based examination is scheduled on April 9, 11, 12, 19.

Since the same question papers cannot be given on all the dates, the board has intimated to all the aspirants that the ?subject experts who have prepared these question papers have certified that the entire syllabus of mathematics, physics and chemistry has been covered in each question set by dividing the syllabus of each subject into appropriate number of units and choosing equal number of questions from each unit'.

According to a senior official of the CBSE, the difficulty level of the questions in each subject will be the same. "In every set, each subject carries the same percentage of easy, medium and difficult questions. This ensures the same difficulty level of each set of question paper as per the practice of the board in the year 2012 and 2013. Students need not worry that they got a tough paper whereas the aspirants on some other day faced a relatively easy one. The three-tier filtration, evaluation of question papers makes them equal for all," he clarified.

JEE Mains is conducted in as many as 150 centres (offline) and 281 centres (online) including Hyderabad, Warangal, Guntur, Tirupathi. More than 1.20 lakh have registered from Andhra Pradesh for the exam.

The CBSE has further asked all the applicants a copy of their hall-tickets or mark sheets, whichever is applicable, along with their admit cards to the exam hall and submit the same to the invigilators.

"Candidates, who qualified class 12th or Intermediate exam in 2012 or 2013, and have not opted for improvement of performance in 2014 should submit a copy of their final marks- sheet/ marks statement of class 12th or Inter of year 2012 or 2013.

Candidates, who qualified class 12th or Inter examination in 2012 or 2013, and have opted for improvement of performance in 2014 in all subjects should submit a copy of their admit card/hall ticket for improvement of performance in class 12th or Inter Examination 2014.

Candidates, who are appearing or appeared for senior Inter this year (in 2014) need to submit a copy of their admit card/hall ticket for class 12th/qualifying examination 2014.

Candidate must write roll no. of JEE (Mains) 2014, on the top right corner of the copy of the document and submit to the invigilator," the CBSE stated.
