New Delhi: In a critical update for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2027 candidates, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a public notice allowing aspirants who made serious errors in their initial Session 1 submission to submit a fresh application form.
This provision comes as a major relief to students facing uncorrectable registration errors—such as incorrect identity/Aadhaar details, wrong mobile numbers, or fundamental profile mix-ups. However, the testing agency has issued strict guidelines and monetary conditions to govern this process and prevent malpractice.
The NTA has outlined a set of specific rules for candidates opting to fill out a new JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application form:
Which Application Form Remains Valid?
Only the latest application form for which the complete examination fee has been paid and the official Confirmation Page is generated will be treated as valid. Unpaid or incomplete form submissions will be disregarded automatically.
No Fee Refunds or Adjustments:
The application fee paid during the previous form submission will not be refunded or adjusted against the new application. Candidates choosing to file a fresh registration must pay the full prescribed fee again.
Generation of New Application Number:
Submitting a fresh application will generate a completely new Application Number. Information from previous forms will not be auto-filled or transferred; all personal details, photographs, signatures, and category documents must be re-entered and re-uploaded.
Strict Single Attempt and Unfair Means (UFM) Regulations:
While possessing multiple application numbers due to a correction process will not be penalized as Unfair Means (UFM), candidates are strictly forbidden from attempting the examination more than once in Session 1. Appearing in the exam using two different application numbers will lead to immediate disqualification under strict UFM rules.
Candidates must adhere strictly to the schedule released by the testing agency:
The NTA strongly advises candidates to carefully evaluate their errors before making a fresh registration.
NTA Advisory: Submitting a fresh form should be considered a last resort. If the error pertains to minor details—such as candidate category, choice of paper, exam city preference, or academic details (Class 10/12 marks)—students are encouraged to utilize the Form Correction Window (November 27–29, 2026) instead of incurring double application fees.
A fresh form is strictly recommended only if core locked identity parameters (such as linked Aadhaar credentials or primary contact information) were entered incorrectly and cannot be modified via the standard correction facility.
For assistance or technical issues during registration, candidates can reach the official NTA Help Desk at 011-40759000 / 011-69227700 or via email at jeemain@nta.ac.in
