Relaxation in age limit for all non-uniform services

The State government has announced that the two-year relaxation in the upper age limit for job aspirants was applicable to all non-uniform services notified by the Andhra Pradesh Public Services Commission.

In a chat with media persons on Sunday, the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, said the ambitious Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu programme was launched aimed at providing 15 lakh jobs to unemployed, essentially to cover a majority of youth. With youth constituting an estimated 54 per cent of the population, the government embarked upon RYK to ensure that they were suitably employed and this would, in turn, help in keeping them off from taking to other activities.

The Chief Minister said the government was putting in lot of efforts to appeal to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to formally hand over letters of appointment to select youth. With the Prime Minister likely to arrive here on January 12 in connection with the Partnership Summit, the government was proposing to utilise the opportunity to mark the formal launch of the programme.
