School exams in Telangana from April 1 to April 11, summer holidays end on June 1

Hyderabad: With the High Court dismissing the plea of the Telangana Private School Managements’ Forum challenging the action of the state government in advancing annual examination schedule for Classes I to IX, the Telangana government has decided to conduct the exams from April 1 to 11 as announced earlier. Originally, the exams were to be held between April 12 and 23.
“The summer holidays will be from April 24 to June 1,” said T. Chiranjeevulu, commissioner and director of school education.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Private School Managements’ Association president S. Sreenivas Reddy said, “Last year, several working days were lost due to the postponement of quarterly and half-yearly exams, besides the government declaring additional holidays for Bonnalu, Bathukamma, Ramzan and Christmas. The syllabus was not completed in most of the schools. Therefore, we opposed advancement of annual exams.''
