Singareni Collieries to Fill Up Over 5000 Vacancies

Hyderabad: In a step that will give much-needed hope to the unemployed, the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) is recruiting about 5,500 candidates in external/internal mode in various unskilled, technical and executive cadres.

The initiative has been taken up by SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar to fill up all the vacancies — a move that has been postponed for various reasons from time to time.

Of the 5,000-odd jobs, 2164 are external vacancies and will be notified from Feb 10. Of them, 1,127 posts are for degree holders in mining and civil, and diploma holders in electrical and mechanical fields. This will followed by a notification for recruitment to 771 posts in the category of fitters, electricians, welders, mine surveyors and junior assistants besides 266 for paramedical and other technical staff.

The tentative schedule of exams begins in April and the exercise will be completed by June-end. The CMD directed officials to make preparations to complete the process by June in a transparent manner and following the Presidential Orders.

The recruitment notifications can be viewed on www.scclmines.com. Further, as directed by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, 2,744 dependant employees awaiting up to March, 2004 have been identified and, 753 persons given employment.
