SNAP 2023: Here’s your effective 4-month roadmap to acing the exam

Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) is a national-level MBA entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis International University(deemed), Pune, for admissions into MBA programmes into its 15 institutes across India. This year, the exam is scheduled to take place on December 10,18 & 23, from 02 PM to 03 PM. A candidate can appear thrice in the exam, for which their highest score will be considered as final.

This computer-based 1-hour test comes with 60 questions and is divided into three sections.
Section I: General English: Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability (15 questions)
Section II: Analytical & Logical Reasoning (25 questions)
Section III: Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency (20 questions)

For wrong answers, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks.
SNAP is considered to be a moderately difficult exam. Cut-off marks vary from year to year and from programme to programme, offered at different Symbiosis institutes. To kickstart your preparation for this entrance exam, it is crucial to grasp the syllabus and exam pattern first. A basic understanding allows you to strategically allocate time to each subject and topic, resulting in a well-structured study plan. Additionally, understanding the weightage assigned to different sections and question types provides valuable insights for efficient prioritization of topics. Here is a 4-month preparation plan for

SNAP 2023.
Month 1: September 2023
Set clear and achievable goals: Start by outlining what you hope to achieve in the next 4 months after thoroughly reviewing the SNAP syllabus.
Find and work on your weak areas: Begin your preparation by taking a few practice tests. This will help you identify where you're strong and where you need to improve. Focus on improving the topics you're not so good at while keeping a check on how long it is taking you to complete.
Create a structured study schedule and stick to it: It's important to have a consistent study routine. Make a timetable that fits into your daily life and allocates enough time for each subject.
Practise with mock exams: Get familiar with the exam format and question difficulty by taking a timed and simulated test. This will help you feel more prepared for the real thing.
Month 2: October 2023
Keep up with daily practice: Maintain your daily SNAP question-solving and mock test routine. This should show improvements in your scores, indicating your progress.
Focus on improving weak areas: Pay extra attention to the subjects where you face challenges. If some subjects are still difficult, dedicate more time to strengthen your understanding.
Initiate interview preparation: The next step after the SNAP test, for short-listed candidates, is GE-PIWAT (Group exercise, Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test). Allocate time for interview readiness. Go through various disciplines that are offered in the institutes and hone your responses to anticipated interview queries.
Consider taking a SNAP preparation course: Think about signing up for a specialized preparation programme from a reputed MBA entrance coaching centre. These courses provide valuable guidance and support to help you refine your preparation strategy.
Month 3: November 2023
Keep practising consistently: Stick to your routine of solving questions and taking mock tests regularly. By now, you should be feeling more confident about your performance.
Review your notes thoroughly: Take the time to go through your notes and study materials carefully. This is a chance to revisit what you've learned, strengthening your understanding.
Hone your time management skills: Focus on improving your time management abilities. Since the exam has time constraints, it's crucial to develop effective strategies to use your time effectively. Practise timed study sessions and mock tests to enhance this skill.
Month 4: December 2023
Cover all the important topics: Continue to concentrate on reviewing your notes and study materials to ensure you cover all potential exam topics.
Gradually reduce study intensity: As the exam approaches, start reducing the intensity of your study sessions. Avoid overexertion and make sure to allocate enough time for relaxation and rejuvenation before the exam.
Continue practising timed tests: Take several practice tests with time constraints. This will help you get used to the pressure of time limitations of the actual exam.

Prioritize a good night's sleep: Make sure to get a restful night's sleep the day before the exam. Being well-rested will improve your alertness and focus on the day of the test.
Registration for SNAP 2023 has begun. The last date of registration is November 23, 2023.
