Sri Venkateswara University takes student interaction to new heights

Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), which has many firsts to its credit in the technological arena, is now in the news for yet another achievement.
Education News ?SVU Botany Alumni?, a public group in the form of a Facebook page launched by Bogineni Chenchurama Naidu, an NRI and alumnus of SVU College of Engineering, was the first initiative for the department, which acts as a common platform for students, teachers and alumni by facilitating interaction on issues of higher research.

The latest is a system being readied to conduct videoconference with senior faculty members to help the student community. In fact, Mr. Naidu donated a 49-inch Ultra HD Smart TV with built-in Internet and Wi-Fi connectivity to the department, to be used for Webcasting, Skyping or videoconferencing.

?We have requested all alumni members across the globe to participate in the weekly videoconferences conducted every Friday or Saturday,? said Sudarsanam Gudivada, Dean of Foreign Relations and Alumni Matters.

Mr. Naidu will address the first videoconference from the US which will be followed by a talk on ?Awareness on environment degradation in Tirumala hills? by eminent scientist Rajagopal Velamoor. Founder of the Society for Hunger Elimination (SHE) in Tirupati, Dr. Rajagopal is currently stationed in the US, from where he will deliver the talk.
