The CBSE UGC NET exam is conducted for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor in both Indian universities and colleges.
The online registration process of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) 2017 will start from today at cbse.net.in
The UGC NET exam 2017 will be conducted on November 5 in three separate sessions.
How to apply for UGC NET 2017:
Go to the official website of CBSE UGC NET, cbsenet.nic.in
Click on 'Fill Application Form - NET November 2017'
Click on new registration
Fill the all the required details in prescribed format
Upload scanned photo and signature
Pay the examination fee
Educational qualification required:
Candidate must have obtained minimum 55 per cent marks (without rounding off) in Master's degree. Candidates in the final of your Master's degree can also apply.
Age limit:
As per official release, there is no upper age limit for Assistant Professorship but for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) the upper age limit is 28 years as on November 1, 2017.
Application fee:
General category: Rs 1000
OBC: Rs 500
SC / ST / Person with Disabilities (PwD): Rs 250
Qualifying criteria of the NET:
After subsequent orders of the High Court of Kerala, UGC had revised the procedure and criteria of qualifying candidates and as such it has been decided that 6 per cent of the total candidates who appear in the UGC NET examination will be declared qualified.
