Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) is a scheme by the HRD Ministry for admissions to leading Indian organizations offering Engineering / Management / Architecture/ Planning programs at the UG and additionally the PG level. Admissions to PG programs offered by DASA PG taking part foundations were composed by VNIT (Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology) Nagpur. Under the plan, Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)/Non Resident Indians (NRIs) are given admissions to the said programs offered by NITs(National Institutes of Technology), IIEST(Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology), Shibpur, IIITs(Indian Institutes of Information Technology), SPAs(School of Planning and Architecture) and other Centrally Funded and Premier Technical Institutes(CFTIs).

Through DASA PG, previously mentioned understudies get admissions to postgraduate projects like MTech, MArch, MPlan, MDes, MURP and MBA. The subtle elements for DASA PG 2018 will be out soon. (UMA)

DASA PG 2018 Application Form

DASA PG 2018 application process comprises of two steps:

Online application: This step involves the online submission of required documents which should be scanned. Aspirants are not required to send any hard copy/ies of application or supporting documents.

Submission of GRE/GMAT score: GRE test score needs to be sent directly through ETS or VNIT Nagpur. GMAT score too needs to be sent via GMAC to VNIT Nagpur.

Online application:

For online DASA PG registrations, aspirants need to follow the given below steps:

Registration

  • Visit the official website of DASA 2018 and click on the DASA 2018 Postgraduate admissions link at http://www.dasanit.org.
  • Now, register/sign up by entering details like - Email ID, Captcha words etc.
  • Once all the information is filled in correctly, hit the 'Create my account' button.
  • After that, an aspirants will receive an email on their email address which will have a link to complete the registration process.
  • Now, aspirants need to enter the Applicant ID which will be given in the email.
  • Enter the password and confirm the same.
  • Once all the above steps are complete, the registration is complete.
  • The applicant ID and password should be saved for all the future references and logins. It should also be kept confidential.

Application filling and submission:

Once applicants create an account, they should login using email address and Password.

Aspirants can enter as many as number of choices according to their preference. It can be a combination of institutes and/or courses in order of priority from the course list available.

Aspirants will be required to upload the following:

  • Latest passport size photograph in JPG format (size ~ 3.5cmx3.5cm, file size

Aspirants can preview their application form and ensure all the details provided are correct. Aspirants can make changes by clicking the Edit the Application Form button and edit the same. Once all the data is filled in correctly, the Submit button needs to be clicked.

Aspirants should download the online submitted form and keep a carry of the same for records

DASA Eligibility Criteria 2018

Nationality: The candidate should possess Indian nationality.All NRI, PIO, OCIS are eligible who have completed their graduation from over the globe including India.

Age: The candidate should have a birth date before 01 October 1993.

Domicile: The candidate should have the domicile of the corresponding state if asked.

Qualification Criteria:

The candidates who have completed graduation in any discipline with 60% marks are eligible.

The candidates should complete the graduation in format 10+2+3/4.

DASA PG Merit List 2018

The rank list for DASA PG 2018 will be prepared on the basis of the marks scored by the candidates in the GRE exam. In case of a tie between two candidates the inter se merit of such applicant will be determined on the below given parameters:

(a) Marks secured in GRE Analytical Writing and then by Quantitative Reasoning score in the same order

(b) If the tie still persists, then the date of birth of the applicants will be taken into account and the elder candidate will be given preference

(c) Those who have taken GMAT, the Analytical writing assessment score followed by Quantitative score in the same order

(d) If the scores are still tied in the case of GMAT, then the date of birth of the applicants will be taken into account and older applicant will be ranked above.

ASA PG 2018 Counselling Process/ DASA PG 2018 Seat Allotment Process

DASA PG 2018 counselling process

  • Basis the aspirant's rank and choice/s, his/her name will feature in the merit list.
  • If candidate's first choice is not available, then he will be given the second choice.
  • During the first round of counselling, aspirants need to give their seat acceptance before the last date. Applicants who not allotted any seat will be eligible for the second round of counselling against vacancies.
  • Once aspirants are allotted seats, they will have to submit their confirmation along with the required documents to the allotted institute.
  • Aspirants also have an option of applying for upgradation of course and institute.
  • Once the seats are allotted to candidates and they further confirm their acceptance of seat, they will be able to download the Provisional Allotment Letter and take a printout of the same.
  • The allotment letter needs to be signed before being submitted at the institute he/she has been allotted.
  • Candidates are advised to verify all the original documents and certificates at the allotted institute.
  • Foreign nationals need to get a valid student visa issued by the Indian Missions abroad. The same can be acquired by producing the Provisional Admission offer letter and other documents. It’s the aspirant's responsibility to get an appropriate visa.

DASA PG 2018 Document Required
