The AP PECET (Andhra Pradesh Physical Education Common Entrance Test) 2026 is conducted by Acharya Nagarjuna University on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) to facilitate admission into Physical Education courses like B.P.Ed (Bachelor of Physical Education) and D.P.Ed (Diploma in Physical Education) in various colleges across Andhra Pradesh. The eligibility criteria for AP PECET 2026 are crucial for candidates to understand before applying, as these criteria determine their qualification to appear for the AP PECET 2026 exam and subsequently gain admission.

Educational Qualifications for AP PECET 2026:

  • For admission to the B.P.Ed course, candidates must have either passed or be appearing in the final year of a 3-year degree program from any recognized university or institution in Andhra Pradesh.
  • For the D.P.Ed course, candidates should have passed or be appearing in the final year of Intermediate/10+2 or any equivalent course recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Age Limit

  • Candidates applying for the D.P.Ed course must be at least 16 years old as of July 1, 2026.
  • Candidates applying for the B.P.Ed course must be at least 19 years old as of July 1, 2026.
  • There is no maximum age limit specified for either course.

Nationality and Domicile

  • Applicants must be Indian citizens.
  • They should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh and satisfy local/non-local status requirements as prescribed by the state education authorities.
  • Candidates who have completed education through distance-mode or correspondence from deemed or private universities are generally not eligible unless these courses are approved by relevant statutory bodies such as UGC and AICTE.

Other Conditions

  • Physically fit candidates are preferred; pregnant women are not permitted to take the physical efficiency test.
  • In-service physical education teachers may have special provisions allowing them admission without appearing for the entrance test, subject to specific application through authorized channels.
  • Candidates must ensure they meet all the AP PECET 2026 eligibility criteria at the time of admission to avoid rejection of their candidature.
