DU JAT 2026 Application Form

DU JAT 2026 Application Form

DU JAT as a standalone entrance exam is no longer conducted. For 2026, admission to Delhi University’s BMS, BBA (FIA) and BBE is through CUET (UG) and the DU CSAS (UG) portal. However, from a student’s perspective, this is effectively the “DU JAT 2026” application route, because the same set of DU management courses and colleges are covered and the process is centrally managed by NTA and the University of Delhi. The application is completed in two broad stages: first applying for CUET (UG) and then registering and participating in DU’s CSAS (UG) counselling.

Overview of “DU JAT 2026” application route

For 2026, any candidate who wishes to pursue BMS, BBA (FIA) or BBE at Delhi University must first fill the CUET (UG) online form on the NTA portal and select the University of Delhi and the required subject combination (Language + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics + General Test). After CUET (UG) results are declared, the same candidate must register on DU’s CSAS (UG) portal, fill programme–college preferences, upload documents and participate in the allocation rounds. This two-tier process fully replaces the old single DU JAT application form system.

Stage 1: CUET (UG) 2026 registration

The first stage is to apply for CUET (UG) 2026, which is the national-level computer-based test conducted by NTA for central universities including Delhi University. The form is expected to be released online, and candidates can only apply through the official CUET (UG) website using a personal email ID and mobile number. All communication regarding admit card, corrections and results is sent electronically, so the contact details entered must remain active throughout the admission cycle.

Step-by-step CUET (UG) application process

The CUET (UG) application can typically be described in the following steps:

Online registration: The candidate creates a login account using name, email ID, mobile number, date of birth and a chosen password. A system-generated application number is issued for all future logins.

Filling the application form: After login, the candidate enters personal details (name, parents’ names, gender, category, nationality, address), academic details (Class 10 and 12 board, year of passing, subjects, marks/percentages), and examination choices. For DU JAT-equivalent courses, the candidate must specifically choose the University of Delhi as a preferred university and select:

  • One Language test (for example English or another permitted language),
  • Domain subject: Mathematics/Applied Mathematics,
  • General Test (section covering reasoning, GK, quantitative aptitude etc.).

Selecting exam cities: The candidate chooses preferred CUET (UG) exam cities in order of priority from the available list, generally up to several options. Allotment of city is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed for the first choice.

Uploading documents: The form requires scanned copies of the following documents listed below.

  • Recent passport-size photograph (colour, as per specified size and resolution),
  • Signature (in black/blue on white background),
  • Category certificate for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS,
  • PwD certificate, if applicable,
  • Sometimes Class 10 certificate as date-of-birth proof.

All files must follow the specified format (usually JPEG/JPG/PDF) and fall within the given size limits.

Payment of application fee: The candidate pays the CUET (UG) fee online through net banking, credit/debit card, UPI or other permitted digital modes. The fee is generally structured by:

  • Number of papers or tests chosen,
  • Candidate category (General, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC/ST, PwD),
  • Possibly exam city region (India vs outside India).

A successful transaction generates an online receipt, which the candidate should download or print for personal records and for future reference.

Final review and submission: Before submitting, the candidate must preview the entire form, verify spelling of names, chosen subjects and exam city preferences, and confirm all entries. Once submitted, changes are not allowed except during any official correction window announced later.

Correction window (if provided): Within the correction window, limited fields such as exam city or certain personal details can be edited, but many fields—especially chosen subjects and category—may or may not be editable. Candidates must carefully read the correction policy.

Stage 2: DU CSAS (UG) registration for BMS, BBA (FIA) and BBE

The second stage begins once CUET (UG) results are declared.

Delhi University conducts centralised admissions for all UG programmes, including the management-related courses that were earlier covered under DU JAT, through its CSAS (UG) online portal.

Only candidates who have appeared in CUET (UG) with the prescribed subject combination for the desired DU course can participate in this stage.

Key components of CSAS (UG) registration

Fresh registration on DU portal: The candidate must visit DU’s official admission portal and create a CSAS (UG) account using personal details and CUET credentials (application number and roll number). A separate CSAS registration fee is payable, distinct from the CUET fee.

Profile and academic details:

The portal requires re-entry or confirmation of:

  • Personal data (matching CUET and Class 10 certificate),
  • Category and sub-category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD/CW/Minority etc.),
  • Class 10 and 12 qualification details, board, year, marks and subjects.

CUET (UG) score integration:

DU imports CUET marks/percentiles directly from NTA databases into the candidate’s CSAS profile. The candidate can usually see CUET subject-wise scores and overall percentile corresponding to each paper, which will be used for programme-specific merit calculations.

Programme and college preference filling:

For DU JAT-equivalent programmes, the candidate selects:

  • BMS,
  • BBA (Financial Investment Analysis),
  • BA (Hons) Business Economics,

and then creates an ordered list of college–programme combinations, such as:

  • BMS at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies,
  • BBA (FIA) at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies,
  • BMS at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, and so on.

This preference list is extremely important, as the CSAS allocation algorithm uses it in conjunction with CUET scores and seat availability.

Document upload for verification:

The candidate need to upload the following documents:

  • Class 10 mark sheet/certificate (proof of date of birth),
  • Class 12 provisional/mark sheet,
  • Category certificates (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/CW/PwD etc.) in the prescribed formats and validity periods
  • Photo and signature if not already taken from earlier DU profiles.
  • In some cases, migration/transfer certificates and anti-ragging undertakings are required at the time of physical admission.

Payment of CSAS registration fee:

A non-refundable UG registration fee is paid online. There may be separate fees or processes for special categories like Sports/ECA applicants.

Allocation rounds and seat acceptance

Once registrations close, DU runs multiple allocation rounds where candidates are offered seats based on:

  • CUET (UG) scores in the relevant combination,
  • College and programme preferences,
  • Category and reservation rules,
  • Availability of seats in each round.

When a candidate gets an offer for a particular college–programme combination:

  • Seat acceptance: The candidate must log in within the specified window, accept the seat, and complete any online fee payment as indicated. If they fail to accept in time, the offer lapses.

Document verification: The allotted college verifies uploaded documents online (and later physically) to ensure:

  • Marks meet programme-wise eligibility,
  • Category certificates are genuine and valid,
  • Subject combination (including Mathematics in Class 12) matches course requirements.

Upgradation:
Candidates can usually choose to:

  • Freeze the allotted seat, or
  • Opt for upgradation in subsequent rounds based on higher preferences.
If they opt for upgradation and a higher preference is allotted later, the previous seat is automatically cancelled.

Spot rounds: If seats remain vacant after normal rounds, DU may conduct spot rounds where fresh preferences or willingness declarations are taken. Participation rules in spot rounds can differ from regular ones, and previously allotted seats may have to be surrendered.

Important points specific to DU JAT-equivalent courses

For BMS, BBA (FIA) and BBE, the following are critical within the application/process framework:

Mandatory CUET subjects:

Candidates must have:

  • One language paper (often English),
  • Mathematics/Applied Mathematics as the domain subject,
  • General Test.

Missing any one of these in CUET (UG) generally disqualifies a candidate from consideration for these programmes, even if their Class 12 subjects are correct.

Meeting Class 12 eligibility:

Alongside CUET scores, DU checks that –

  • The candidate has passed Class 12 from a recognised board,
  • The minimum aggregate percentage (for example, around 60% for General category, with relaxation for reserved categories) is met,
  • Mathematics/Applied Mathematics was studied at the 10+2 level, as per the latest DU bulletin for the relevant year.

Reservation and region quota:

Central reservation rules for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS and PwD apply. Some colleges historically distinguish seats for Delhi region versus outside Delhi candidates; candidates must check the current year’s DU admission bulletin for whether such regional quotas operate for their chosen college.

Special categories (Sports/ECA/CW/PwD):

  • Sports/ECA candidates must additionally apply under those categories and appear for trials or portfolio evaluations where applicable.
  • CW (Children/Widows of Armed Forces Personnel) and PwD candidates must upload the appropriate certificates during CSAS registration and may have relaxed cut-offs or horizontal reservations.

Withdrawal and refunds: If a candidate withdraws after fee payment and before a specified cut-off date, partial fee refunds may be allowed as per DU policy; beyond that, only caution money or security deposits, if any, may be refundable.

Practical tips for candidates

  • Use one consistent email ID and mobile number for both CUET (UG) and DU CSAS (UG) to avoid confusion and missed communications.
  • Fill names, parents’ names, and dates of birth exactly as per Class 10 certificate; inconsistencies can cause document-verification problems.
  • Decide the DU programmes and colleges in advance by studying previous years’ cut-offs and seat matrices; this helps in building a realistic and strategic preference list.
  • Track all key dates – CUET (UG) registration, correction window, admit card download, exam date(s), result declaration, CSAS registration, choice filling, and each allocation round’s deadlines.
  • Keep multiple soft copies and printouts of the completed CUET and CSAS application forms, fee receipts and uploaded documents.

FAQs

Q1. Is there a separate DU JAT 2026 application form for BMS, BBA (FIA) and BBE?

Ans. For 2026, there is no separate DU JAT form; candidates must apply for CUET (UG) and then register on DU’s CSAS (UG) portal for admission to BMS, BBA (FIA) and BBE. The combined use of CUET (UG) and CSAS (UG) fully replaces the previous DU JAT application system.

Q2. Which subjects should a candidate select in the CUET (UG) form for DU JAT-equivalent courses?

Ans. A candidate targeting BMS, BBA (FIA) or BBE at DU should normally choose one language from the approved list, Mathematics/Applied Mathematics as the domain subject, and the General Test, along with selecting the University of Delhi as a preferred university.

Q3. Can a candidate edit the CUET (UG) form after submission if a subject or DU is missed?
Ans. Generally, only limited fields can be edited during the official correction window, and in many years subject choices and selected universities are not fully editable; therefore, candidates should assume that missing DU or the required subjects may not be fixable and should be very careful before final submission.

Q4. Is it enough to fill only the CUET (UG) form to get a BMS/BBA seat in DU?

Ans. No, filling CUET (UG) alone is not sufficient. After CUET results, the candidate must also complete DU’s CSAS (UG) registration, upload documents, and fill college–programme preferences; without CSAS registration, they cannot be considered in the DU allocation rounds.

Q5. What happens if a candidate does not accept the allotted seat in a given CSAS (UG) round?

Ans. If a candidate fails to accept an allotted seat within the specified time window in a particular round, that offer automatically lapses, and the candidate may either be considered only for subsequent rounds under specific conditions or may be removed from the process altogether as per the rules issued in that year’s DU admission bulletin.
