DU JAT as a standalone entrance exam is no longer conducted. For 2026, admission to Delhi University’s BMS, BBA (FIA) and BBE is through CUET (UG) and the DU CSAS (UG) portal. However, from a student’s perspective, this is effectively the “DU JAT 2026” application route, because the same set of DU management courses and colleges are covered and the process is centrally managed by NTA and the University of Delhi. The application is completed in two broad stages: first applying for CUET (UG) and then registering and participating in DU’s CSAS (UG) counselling.
For 2026, any candidate who wishes to pursue BMS, BBA (FIA) or BBE at Delhi University must first fill the CUET (UG) online form on the NTA portal and select the University of Delhi and the required subject combination (Language + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics + General Test). After CUET (UG) results are declared, the same candidate must register on DU’s CSAS (UG) portal, fill programme–college preferences, upload documents and participate in the allocation rounds. This two-tier process fully replaces the old single DU JAT application form system.
The first stage is to apply for CUET (UG) 2026, which is the national-level computer-based test conducted by NTA for central universities including Delhi University. The form is expected to be released online, and candidates can only apply through the official CUET (UG) website using a personal email ID and mobile number. All communication regarding admit card, corrections and results is sent electronically, so the contact details entered must remain active throughout the admission cycle.
The CUET (UG) application can typically be described in the following steps:
Online registration: The candidate creates a login account using name, email ID, mobile number, date of birth and a chosen password. A system-generated application number is issued for all future logins.
Filling the application form: After login, the candidate enters personal details (name, parents’ names, gender, category, nationality, address), academic details (Class 10 and 12 board, year of passing, subjects, marks/percentages), and examination choices. For DU JAT-equivalent courses, the candidate must specifically choose the University of Delhi as a preferred university and select:
Selecting exam cities: The candidate chooses preferred CUET (UG) exam cities in order of priority from the available list, generally up to several options. Allotment of city is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed for the first choice.
Uploading documents: The form requires scanned copies of the following documents listed below.
All files must follow the specified format (usually JPEG/JPG/PDF) and fall within the given size limits.
Payment of application fee: The candidate pays the CUET (UG) fee online through net banking, credit/debit card, UPI or other permitted digital modes. The fee is generally structured by:
A successful transaction generates an online receipt, which the candidate should download or print for personal records and for future reference.
Final review and submission: Before submitting, the candidate must preview the entire form, verify spelling of names, chosen subjects and exam city preferences, and confirm all entries. Once submitted, changes are not allowed except during any official correction window announced later.
Correction window (if provided): Within the correction window, limited fields such as exam city or certain personal details can be edited, but many fields—especially chosen subjects and category—may or may not be editable. Candidates must carefully read the correction policy.
The second stage begins once CUET (UG) results are declared.
Delhi University conducts centralised admissions for all UG programmes, including the management-related courses that were earlier covered under DU JAT, through its CSAS (UG) online portal.
Only candidates who have appeared in CUET (UG) with the prescribed subject combination for the desired DU course can participate in this stage.
Fresh registration on DU portal: The candidate must visit DU’s official admission portal and create a CSAS (UG) account using personal details and CUET credentials (application number and roll number). A separate CSAS registration fee is payable, distinct from the CUET fee.
The portal requires re-entry or confirmation of:
DU imports CUET marks/percentiles directly from NTA databases into the candidate’s CSAS profile. The candidate can usually see CUET subject-wise scores and overall percentile corresponding to each paper, which will be used for programme-specific merit calculations.
For DU JAT-equivalent programmes, the candidate selects:
and then creates an ordered list of college–programme combinations, such as:
This preference list is extremely important, as the CSAS allocation algorithm uses it in conjunction with CUET scores and seat availability.
The candidate need to upload the following documents:
A non-refundable UG registration fee is paid online. There may be separate fees or processes for special categories like Sports/ECA applicants.
Once registrations close, DU runs multiple allocation rounds where candidates are offered seats based on:
When a candidate gets an offer for a particular college–programme combination:
Document verification: The allotted college verifies uploaded documents online (and later physically) to ensure:
Upgradation: Candidates can usually choose to:
Spot rounds: If seats remain vacant after normal rounds, DU may conduct spot rounds where fresh preferences or willingness declarations are taken. Participation rules in spot rounds can differ from regular ones, and previously allotted seats may have to be surrendered.
For BMS, BBA (FIA) and BBE, the following are critical within the application/process framework:
Candidates must have:
Missing any one of these in CUET (UG) generally disqualifies a candidate from consideration for these programmes, even if their Class 12 subjects are correct.
Alongside CUET scores, DU checks that –
Central reservation rules for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS and PwD apply. Some colleges historically distinguish seats for Delhi region versus outside Delhi candidates; candidates must check the current year’s DU admission bulletin for whether such regional quotas operate for their chosen college.
Withdrawal and refunds: If a candidate withdraws after fee payment and before a specified cut-off date, partial fee refunds may be allowed as per DU policy; beyond that, only caution money or security deposits, if any, may be refundable.
Q1. Is there a separate DU JAT 2026 application form for BMS, BBA (FIA) and BBE?
Ans. For 2026, there is no separate DU JAT form; candidates must apply for CUET (UG) and then register on DU’s CSAS (UG) portal for admission to BMS, BBA (FIA) and BBE. The combined use of CUET (UG) and CSAS (UG) fully replaces the previous DU JAT application system.
Q2. Which subjects should a candidate select in the CUET (UG) form for DU JAT-equivalent courses?
Ans. A candidate targeting BMS, BBA (FIA) or BBE at DU should normally choose one language from the approved list, Mathematics/Applied Mathematics as the domain subject, and the General Test, along with selecting the University of Delhi as a preferred university.
Q3. Can a candidate edit the CUET (UG) form after submission if a subject or DU is missed? Ans. Generally, only limited fields can be edited during the official correction window, and in many years subject choices and selected universities are not fully editable; therefore, candidates should assume that missing DU or the required subjects may not be fixable and should be very careful before final submission.
Q4. Is it enough to fill only the CUET (UG) form to get a BMS/BBA seat in DU?
Ans. No, filling CUET (UG) alone is not sufficient. After CUET results, the candidate must also complete DU’s CSAS (UG) registration, upload documents, and fill college–programme preferences; without CSAS registration, they cannot be considered in the DU allocation rounds.
Q5. What happens if a candidate does not accept the allotted seat in a given CSAS (UG) round?
Ans. If a candidate fails to accept an allotted seat within the specified time window in a particular round, that offer automatically lapses, and the candidate may either be considered only for subsequent rounds under specific conditions or may be removed from the process altogether as per the rules issued in that year’s DU admission bulletin.
