The KARTET 2024 will be held on 6th November 2024. The registration and application process will begin from the 1st September 2024 and will continue till the 30th of September 2024. The KARTET exam is conducted by the School Education Department, Karnataka.

The KARTET exam is conducted to determine the eligibility for recruitment of teachers in the state's schools. KARTET is designed to assess the eligibility of candidates who aspire to become teachers for classes I to VIII in schools of Karnataka. The test is conducted as per the guidelines laid down by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

KARTET 2024 – Eligibility Criteria

Candidates appearing for KARTET 2024 are required to fulfill certain eligibility criteria that are listed below. The eligibility criteria are based on paper 1 and paper 2 that are listed below.

  • Candidates should be an Indian Citizen.
  • Candidates from the reserved categories will receive 5% of relaxation.
  • Candidates should be aged between 18 – 40 years.

For Primary Teacher (From Class 1 – 5):

  • Candidates are required to be qualified in their 10+2 level with a minimum aggregate of 45% along with a 2 year Diploma in teaching.
  • Candidates are required to be qualified in their 10+2 level with a minimum aggregate of 45% along with a 2 year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  • Candidates are required to be qualified in their 10+2 level with a minimum aggregate of 50% and should be either qualified or in the final year of Bachelor of Elementary Education (four year degree program).

For Upper Primary Teacher (From Class 6 – 8):

  • Candidates should have a qualification in BA/ B. Sc. / B. Com or should be in the final year of 2 year Diploma program in Elementary Education.
  • For Paper 2 exam, candidates should have a minimum aggregate of 60% in Graduation.
  • Candidates should have a qualification in BA/ B. Sc. / B. Com with a minimum aggregate of 45% and should be either qualified or pursuing a 1 year Bachelor in Education.
  • Candidates should have a qualification in BA/ B. Sc. / B. Com with a minimum aggregate of 45% and should be either qualified or pursuing a 1 year B. Ed Education.

KARTET 2024 – Registration/Application Process

The registration and application process will begin from 1st September 2024 and will continue till 30th September 2024. The process is done through online mode and there is no provision for offline mode.

Step – 1: Candidates are required to visit the official website – school education.kar.nic.in to begin the registration and application process by clicking on “Karnataka TET 2024”.

Step – 2: Candidates are then required to register themselves online through the website portal and follow the steps. After registration is done, candidates are then required to fill in the application form.

Step – 3: In the final step, candidates are then required to make the payment for the application form through online mode only.

KARTET 2024 – Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for the KAR TET 2024 consists of two papers, Paper-I and Paper-II.

  • Exam duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes for each paper
  • Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Marking scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer, no negative marking for incorrect answers.

KARTET 2024 – Admit Card

The admit cards for KARTET 2024 will be released for the participating candidates on 21st October 2024. These admit cards will be released online by the authorities in the official website for the registered candidates.

The admit cards will consist of all the important information such as – name, venue, date, time, etc. It is advised for the candidates to keep a hard copy of their admit cards for future reference.
