KARTET 2026 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2026 is a state-level examination conducted by the Department of School Education, Government of Karnataka. Its primary purpose is to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in primary (Classes I–V) and upper primary (Classes VI–VIII) schools across Karnataka.

Only Indian citizens are eligible to appear for KARTET 2026.

Educational Qualifications:

Eligibility is divided by teaching level:

Paper I (Primary Level – Classes I–V): Candidates must have completed Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks or possess higher qualifications in elementary education.

Candidates must be proficient in Kannada and/or the medium of instruction in the schools where they intend to teach.
