KCET 2026 COUNSELLING

KCET 2026 COUNSELING

KCET 2026 counselling is the crucial process for admission into professional courses in Karnataka based on KCET exam results. It is typically conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) through an online mode, starting tentatively in June or July 2026. Candidates who qualify the KCET exam must register for counselling on the official KEA website, confirm their eligibility, and complete document verification either online or at designated centres.

The counselling process comprises multiple stages:

  1. Registration and Document Verification: Qualified candidates register online using their KCET hall ticket number and personal details. They must submit or upload required documents such as KCET rank card, 10th and 12th mark sheets, domicile certificate, caste/category certificates (if applicable), and transfer certificates for verification.
  2. Choice Filling: After verification, candidates fill in their preferred course and college choices in order of priority. This step is critical as seat allotment depends on these preferences combined with the candidate’s rank.
  3. Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted through a computerized system based on merit rank, choice preferences, and seat availability. Results of seat allotment are published online for each counselling round.
  4. Reporting to College: Selected candidates must report to their allotted institute within the specified timeframe with all original documents and the allotment letter. Fees as required must be paid to confirm admission.
  5. Subsequent Counselling Rounds: KCET often has two to three counselling rounds, including special rounds, allowing candidates to improve seat chances or fill vacancies. Candidates who do not participate in counselling or fail to report lose their admission opportunity.
