TG PECET 2026 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

All candidates who want to enroll for Telangana's B.P.Ed. (Bachelor of Physical Education) and D.P.Ed. (Diploma in Physical Education) programs must meet the eligibility requirements for the TG PECET (Telangana Physical Education Common Entrance Test) 2026. Nationality, place of residence, level of education, and age are among the minimum requirements.

  1. Nationality & Domicile Requirements

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens.
  • They should satisfy the local / non-local status requirements laid down by the Telangana State Educational Institutions rules.

  1. Educational Qualifications

    For B.P.Ed. (Bachelor of Physical Education)

  • Must have passed a 3-year degree (any stream) from a recognized university.
  • Must have secured at least 50% aggregate marks in the degree examination.
  • Relaxation for Reserved Categories:
    • SC / ST / BC candidates: Minimum 45% marks.
  • Final-year degree students are eligible to apply, provided they present their marksheet at the time of counselling.

    For D.P.Ed. (Diploma in Physical Education)

  • Must have passed 10+2 / Intermediate from a recognized board.
  • Must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
  • Relaxation for Reserved Categories:
    • SC / ST / BC candidates: Minimum 45% marks.
  • Final-year Intermediate students are eligible to apply.

  1. Physical Fitness Requirements

  • Candidates must be physically fit and free from any chronic illness.
  • A medical fitness certificate from a registered medical officer is mandatory at the time of counselling.
  • Pregnant women are not allowed to participate in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

  1. Skill Test Game Selection

  • Candidates must choose one game for the Skill Test at the time of filling out the application form.
  • Selecting none or multiple games will disqualify the candidate from the skill test.

  1. Reservation Criteria

      As per Telangana Government norms:

  • SC / ST / BC candidates get 5% relaxation in qualifying marks.
  • Local candidates get preference as per the Telangana State reservation policy.

Ques.1 What are the minimum age requirements for TG PECET 2026?

Ans. For B.P.Ed minimum age is 19 years and for D.P.Ed minimum age is 16 years and there is no upper age limit.

Ques.2 What is the nationality requirement for TG PECET 2026?

Ans: Candidates must be Indian citizens. They must satisfy the local/non-local status requirements of Telangana State as per government norms.

Ques.3 Can candidates from other states apply?

Ans: Yes, candidates from other states can apply, but they will be considered under the non-local category and reservation benefits will not be applicable.

Ques.4 What documents are required to prove eligibility?

Ans: At the time of counselling, candidates must produce:

  • SSC / Birth Certificate (proof of age)
  • Degree / Intermediate marks memo
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Local / Non-local status certificate
  • Medical fitness certificate

Ques.5 Are final-year students eligible to apply?

Ans: Yes,  Final-year candidates of:

  • Degree programs (for B.P.Ed.)
  • Intermediate/10+2 (for D.P.Ed.)can apply provisionally, but they must submit proof of qualification during counselling
