Furkating College, Assam Application/Admission Process

For the 2026-27 academic session, Furkating College (Autonomous) follows the centralized admission system mandated by the Department of Higher Education, Assam. The process is primarily digital and merit-based.

Online Application Portals

The college uses different portals depending on the level of the course:

  • UG Programmes (BA, B.Sc, BCA, BBA, B.Voc): Applications must be submitted through the Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal (SAMARTH).
  • Higher Secondary (11th & 12th): Applications are typically processed through the DARPAN portal.

  1. Registration: Create a profile on the SAMARTH portal using your active mobile number and email.
  2. Form Filling: Select "Furkating College (Autonomous)" and your desired program (Major/Minor subjects under NEP 2020).
  3. Document Upload: You will need scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and mark sheets.
  4. Merit List: The college will release a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Merit List based on your 10+2 marks.
  5. Final Admission: If your name appears, you must visit the college for physical document verification and fee payment to confirm your seat.
  1. Eligibility Criteria
  • B.A. / B.Sc.: Must have passed 10+2 (HSSLC) from a recognized board. For an Honors/Major, a minimum of 50% in the specific subject is generally required.
  • BCA: 10+2 passed (preferably with Mathematics/Computer Science).
  • B.Voc: 10+2 passed in any stream.
  • M.A.: Graduation in a relevant subject with minimum required marks as per autonomous guidelines.
  1. Documents Required for Verification

Be ready with the following originals and photocopies:

  • HSC (12th) & HSLC (10th) Marksheets and Pass Certificates.
  • Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/MOBC) for reservation benefits.
  • DHE Unique ID (generated from the DHE Assam website).
  • Income Certificate (if applying for the Fee Waiver scheme for BPL students).
  • Gap Certificate (if there is a break in your studies).
  • Passport-size photos (usually 2–4 copies).

Important Dates (Tentative 2026)

  • Application Opening: May – June 2026 (after HSSLC results).
  • Merit List Publication: June – July 2026.
