Government Autonomous College, Angul (GACA) provides access to a variety of state and central government scholarship schemes. Since it is a premier government institution, students are eligible for substantial financial aid based on merit, category, and economic background.

  1. Odisha State Scholarships (PRERANA)

The State Scholarship Portal is the primary platform for these grants. Applications for the 2026-27 session typically open in November 2026, while renewals for existing students are processed earlier.

  • Post-Matric Scholarship (SC/ST/OBC/SEBC/EBC):
  • Eligibility:SC/ST students (no strict income limit in some cases, though usually capped at Rs.2.5 LPA for certain benefits); OBC/SEBC/EBC students (Family income <Rs.2.5 LPA and minimum 50% marks in the last exam).
    • e-Medhabruti (Merit Scholarship):
  • Eligibility:Awarded to students based on high performance in +2 (for UG) or Graduation (for PG) exams.
  • Amount:Approximately Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 10,000 per year depending on the course and merit rank.
    • Gopabandhu Sikhya Sahayata Yojana:
  • Provides financial assistance to the children of HIV/AIDS-affected families, manual scavengers, and particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs).

  1. National Scholarship Portal (NSP) Schemes

GACA is registered on the NSP, allowing students to apply for central government initiatives:

  • Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship:For college and university students who are in the top 20th percentile of their respective board results.
  • Post-Matric Scholarship for Disabilities:Specifically for students with more than 40% impairment.
  • INSPIRE Scholarship:Science students (B.Sc./M.Sc.) who are among the top 1% in their +2 board exams can receive up to Rs.80,000 per year for pursuing basic science.

  1. Institutional & Private Scholarships

  • Single Girl Child Scholarship:Aimed at families where the applicant is the only girl child, offering fee waivers or stipends.
  • Defense Personnel Quota:Concessions of 10–15% on certain institutional fees for children of serving or retired defense personnel.
  • Bolani Merit Scholarships:Occasional private or regional grants offered to meritorious students specifically from the Angul/Bolani industrial belt.
