Government Autonomous College, Angul Application/Admission Process

Admission to Government Autonomous College, Angul (GACA) is strictly merit-based and conducted through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) of the Odisha Government. There is no separate offline application; all processes for both UG (+3) and PG courses are centralized.

  1. Undergraduate (+3) Admission Process

For students seeking admission into B.A., B.Sc., or B.Com programs, the process is integrated with the SAMS portal.

  • Platform: SAMS Odisha (Degree +3)
  • Application Period: Typically begins in June 2026 (following the declaration of Class 12 results).
  • Selection Criteria: Admission is based entirely on the marks secured in the Higher Secondary (+2/12th) examinations.
  • Steps:
    1. Register: Create a student profile on the SAMS portal using a mobile number and email.
    2. Fill CAF: Complete the Common Application Form (CAF), selecting "Government Autonomous College, Angul" as your preference.
    3. Payment: Pay the application fee online (approx. Rs.300 for General, Rs.200 for SC/ST).
    4. Selection List: Check the merit list published on the portal. If selected, download the Intimation Letter.
    5. Reporting: Visit the college with original documents and the admission fee for final verification.

  1. Postgraduate (PG) Admission Process

PG admissions (M.A., M.Sc., M.Com) are conducted through the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET).

  • Entrance Exam (CPET 2026): Scheduled between May 5 and May 18, 2026.
  • Admit Cards: Available for download starting April 30, 2026.
  • Selection Criteria: A combination of the CPET entrance score and career marks (Graduation performance).
