Katihar Medical College (KMC), Katihar – Application/Admission Process

Katihar Medical College offers undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD/MS) courses in medical sciences. The admission process for these courses is based on the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) scores.

Eligibility Criteria

MBBS:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology.
• For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the minimum marks are 40%, and for candidates with locomotory disability, it is 45%.
• English must be a compulsory subject.
• Candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year.
• Qualifying NEET UG with a minimum of 50th percentile is mandatory.

MD/MS:

• Candidates must hold an MBBS degree with a minimum of 50% marks from an NMC-recognized institution. For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the minimum marks are 40%.
• Completion of a one-year internship is mandatory.

Application and Admission Process

Registration for NEET Exams: Candidates must register for NEET UG or NEET PG on the official NTA or NBE websites, respectively.

Counselling Process:

• After qualifying in NEET, candidates must participate in the counselling process conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB).
• Counselling is based on NEET scores, seat availability, and reservation criteria.

Document Submission: Once allotted a seat, candidates must report to the college with required documents:

• For MBBS: NEET UG Admit Card, Scorecard, Class 10 & 12 certificates, ID proof, caste certificate (if applicable), and passport-size photographs.
• For MD/MS: MBBS Certificate, MBBS 3rd Part II mark sheet, Medical Registration Certificate, Internship Completion Certificate, and NEET PG Score Card.
