SATHYABAMA DENTAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL-  ADMISSIONS

Admissions to Sathyabama Dental College and Hospital (School of Dental Sciences, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology) are entirely merit-based through NEET and the central/state counselling systems, with no direct management admission outside these processes. There are separate procedures for BDS and MDS, but both depend on NEET scores, eligibility criteria and formal counselling allotment.

BDS

Pass 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology plus English, with at least 50% aggregate marks in PCB for General category; relaxed percentage for reserved categories as per central norms.

MDS

BDS degree from a Dental Council of India (DCI) recognised institution.

BDS Admission Process Steps

  • Step 1 – NEET-UG: Register and appear for NEET-UG through NTA; download scorecard and rank letter after result declaration.
  • Step 2 – MCC registration (Deemed quota): Register on the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) portal under “Deemed Universities” for All India counselling; fill and lock choices including “Sathyabama University Dental College and Hospital, Chennai”.
  • Step 3 – Seat allotment rounds: Participate in Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round conducted online by MCC for Deemed Universities; a final Stray Vacancy round is held physically at the college based on list sent by MCC.
  • Step 4 – Reporting to college: After allotment, report to Sathyabama Dental College within the stipulated time with allotment letter, original documents and fees to complete admission, medical fitness and hostel formalities.

MDS Admission Process Steps

  • Step 1 – NEET-MDS: Register with NBEMS, appear for NEET-MDS and obtain scorecard and rank.
  • Step 2 – MCC registration: Register on MCC portal under NEET-MDS Deemed Universities category and fill choices including Sathyabama University Dental College & Hospital.
  • Step 3 – Counselling rounds: Take part in Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up and Stray Vacancy rounds as scheduled by MCC; all allotments are strictly merit-cum-preference-based.
  • Step 4 – College reporting: Report to the college with allotment order, BDS degree and marksheets, internship completion, registration certificate, identity and caste/PwD proofs where relevant, and pay the prescribed tuition and hostel fees.

BDS documents required (indicative)

  • NEET-UG admit card and NEET-UG scorecard/rank letter.
  • Class 10 certificate and marksheet (for date of birth) and Class 12 certificate and marksheet.
  • Government photo ID (Aadhaar/PAN/Driving Licence/Passport) and passport-size photographs.
  • Provisional Allotment Letter from MCC; transfer/courses & conduct certificate from last institution; category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) and PwD certificates if applicable.
  • For NRI seats: Proof of NRI status, sponsor’s affidavit for fee support, embassy resident certificate, and equivalence certificate for foreign qualifications where applicable.

MDS documents required

  • NEET-MDS Admit Card and NEET-MDS Scorecard / Rank Letter.
  • BDS degree certificate (provisional or permanent) from a DCI-recognised university.
  • Mark sheets of BDS 1st, 2nd, 3rd and final year examinations.
  • Internship Completion Certificate for one-year compulsory rotatory internship, issued by Head of Institution, with completion date as per NEET-MDS eligibility norms.
  • Permanent / Provisional Registration Certificate from State Dental Council or DCI.
  • Class 10 certificate (proof of date of birth) and Class 12 certificate and mark sheet.
  • Government photo ID (Aadhaar / PAN / Driving Licence / Passport / Voter ID).
  • Provisional Allotment Letter from MCC / counselling authority for the allotted MDS speciality at Sathyabama.
  • Caste / Community Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) if applicable, in prescribed format.
  • PwD medical certificate from authorised board, if claiming disability reservation.
  • Recent passport-size photographs (usually 6–8 as instructed by the college).
