CUET UG 2024: CUET domain-specific subjects require focused preparation. But for those whose basic concepts are clear and whose analytical ability is good, this paper will be a cakewalk for them. For this, candidates should ensure that they are prepared and confident about at least the main topics.
When it comes to mathematics, as regards pattern, there will be one question paper which will contain two sections i.e. Section A and Section B (B1 and B2). Section A will have 15 questions covering both mathematics and applied mathematics which will be compulsory for all conditions. Section B1 will have 35 questions from mathematics and out of which 25 questions need to be attempted. Section B2 will have 35 questions purely from applied mathematics and out of which 25 questions need to be attempted.
Below is given syllabus of the Maths section along with tips to master the different units
Unit I and Unit II include short and comparatively easy topics which don’t demand a lot of time. Therefore, try to prepare all at once and then just revise them through questions from mock papers.
Unit 1
Unit 2
Unit 3 covers the most important topics and high weightage and it demands in-depth understanding of concepts and so much of practice. NCERT exercises are really good to set your foundation for these chapters and then one can practice it from other standard books. So, invest good amount of time and hard word on Unit III.
Unit 3
Tip- Remember the formulae and the application of these in specific situations.
Tip- These are application based topics hence the tip to master this part is to be aware of all question types
Tips- It is a short and easy topic and its questions can be lengthy because of tedious calculations so memorise standard results and short tricks to get done with its questions in no time.
Tip- It is the easiest chapter of Unit 3 and students can always expect 2 to 3 questions from this topic. Therefore, do good practice of questions based on Order and Degree of Differential Equation and Methods of Differential Equations
Unit 4 is a scoring unit as it demands in depth understanding and visualization and it includes numerous formulas and results which one has to memorize after understanding of their derivatives to save time in the exam.
Unit 4
Tips- Practice more and more questions based on Scaler and Vector product and Projection of a Vector on a Line
Unit 5 Paper includes at least 1 to 2 questions from this unit. Understand the terminologies given in NCERT
Unit 5 – Linear Programming
Unit 6 is an important unit and questions can be asked from any of its topics therefore, all are important so invest good amount of time on this unit as well as practice questions from all its topics.
