Every year, SOL admits 1.5 lakh students to various undergraduate courses. CS Dubey, the director of the SOL said that the course structure and syllabus has been formed and approved by the governing body and was sent to Delhi University for consideration. The university gave us a proforma to fill in the details, which we did and sent it to the university.
He also said that when they studied the number of applications received for these courses, they found that many students had applied but only a limited number got admission. There is a lot of demand for these courses among students so it is necessary to provide a chance for students to study these courses through distance medium,
The courses will now have to be approved by the university administration and then another approval from the distance education board (DEB) will be required before starting the courses. Moreover, earlier this year, Delhi University announced that it is planning to scrap the cut-off system from 2017-18 and likely introduce an entrance test for admissions into undergraduate courses.
