Shukla, who is aiming for a seat in IIT Bombay and enrol in its computer science programme, wants to pursue a career in research and innovation.About his preparations, Shukla said, “I have always given three hours to each subject.” As he was against studying through the night, Shukla, who prepared for two years, said he used to study at least nine hours in the day. Tanish Reddy, a topper from Andhra Pradesh, said he has been preparing since Class 8 and studied 13 to 14 hours a day. “I used to spend two days preparing and two days for tests. I spent a lot of time solving previous years’ question papers. In the test, many questions were very similar to the ones in the previous years’ papers,” said Reddy.Reddy’s parents — Sreenivasa Reddy and Ganga Maha Devi — are both teachers. “Whenever my marks were low, they always encouraged me to look ahead and not worry about it.” He also wants to study computer science at IIT Bombay. Tamil Nadu’s Aradhana R scored 99.99 to become the topper in the Scheduled Caste category while Telangana’s Jagannadham Mohith with 99.99 topped in the Scheduled Tribe category. Shaik Suraj from Andhra Pradesh, Mukunth Prathish S from Tamil Nadu, Gajare Nilkrishna Nirmalkumar from Maharashtra and Himanshu Thalor from Rajasthan were toppers in the Other Backward Classes category with a perfect score of 100.
