UGC NET 2024: Exam tomorrow; check guidelines

UGC NET 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) which conducts the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) will start the re-exam tomorrow, August 21. Earlier the UGC NET exam was conducted on a single day on June 18 in a pen and paper mode.

However, after the paper leak controversy, the Agency decided to re-conduct the exam from August 21 to September 4 all the subjects. This time, the exam will be conducted in computer-based mode. Over 9 lakh candidates registered for the June session examination. Here are some of the guidelines that students need to follow on the UGC NET exam days.

– The aspirants must find and sit on the seats allotted to them, failure in this may lead to cancellation of candidature or any other disciplinary action.

– Candidates need to show the printed copy of admit card when demanded for verification, cooperation is expected.

– Students must check the question paper subject to be the same as filled in the application form and inform the invigilator if there is any disparity.

– Bringing any material which may give unfair advantage to anyone will be counted under unfair means practice and all such cases will be handled by the guidelines of the NTA.

– No retest will be held for any candidates who fail to be present on the examination day allocated.  These students can re-appear for the exam during its December session.
