The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Examination Unit started the online registration process of for University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) June 2018 on the official website, csirhrdg.res.in, CSIR UGC NET 2018 is tentatively scheduled to be conducted on June 17 at 27 exam centres across the country in two sessions.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates interested in applying need to possess a Master's degree or equivalent degree/Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/BTech/BPharma/MBBS with at least 55 per cent marks.
Candidates holding a degree in Bachelor of Science (BSc)(Hons) or students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD programme with at least 55 per cent marks are also eligible to apply.
PAPER PATTERN:
The CSIR UGC NET June 2018 examination will comprise of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) segregated in three parts viz:
Part A: This part will cover questions based on General Aptitude including Logical Reasoning, Graphical Analysis, Analytical and Numerical Ability, Quantitative Comparison, Series Formation, etc.
Part B: This part will comprise of subject-specific questions for which the candidate has applied for JRF or LS.
Part C: The test will check the candidates' knowledge of Scientific Concepts and Analytical skills. 'The questions shall be of analytical nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem.'
The Single MCQ Based Test will carry 200 marks
The total duration of the test is 3 hours
The test will have negative marking

ABOUT EXAM:
The examination is held to test the eligibility of the aspirants for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET. Also, through UGC NET, the eligibility for appointment of Lecturers (NET) in certain subject areas is determined.
