IRMA 2018 Exam Pattern

Institute of Rural Management Anand prescribes the exam pattern of IRMA exam. According to IRMA exam pattern, the test comprises questions from topics relevant to social issues such as Indian economy, health issues, environmental issues, agriculture, human rights etc. The test carries total 40 objective type multiple choice questions. There is also negative marks for wrong answers. 1/4 marks assigned to the question will be deducted as penalty.  On the basis of IRMA 2018 score candidates will be selected for Group Activity (GA) and Personal Interview (PI). IRMA is scheduled to be conducted on February 4, 2018. Read below to check IRMA exam pattern.

IRMA 2018 Marking Scheme

As per the marking scheme prescribed by Institute of Rural Management Anand, one correct answer will carry one mark. The exam also has negative marking. For every incorrect answer, one fourth of the given marks will be deducted. Hence, candidates should be careful while answering the questions.

IRMA 2018 Qualifying Criteria

Candidates are selected for IRMA based on their performance in four different platforms. The individual marks secured by candidates in the following stages will be taken into consideration.

CAT 2017 or XAT 2018

  • Candidates should have appeared and passed in CAT 2017 or XAT 2018 to qualify for the exam
  • If the candidate has appeared and cleared both the exams, then the highest marks will be taken into consideration
  • The marks secured by the candidates is normalised to 40 and it is added along with the other elements

Qualifying Exam conducted by IRMA

  • IRMA 2018 is conducted for a total of 200 marks
  • The paper will contain questions from four (mentioned above) subjects
  • Candidates should secure the minimum qualifying marks in all the four subjects
  • The marks secured by the candidates is normalised to 10 marks

Group Discussion

  • Candidates will be given a social topic and asked to debate on the root cause analysis, feasible and practical solutions
  • They are graded on the knowledge on the topic, ability to communicate fluently and skill to influence the group
  • The total marks awarded is 25 marks

Personal Interview

  • Candidates will be expected to appear before a panel of faculty
  • Questions asked will be on reasons of course selection and on various social issues
  • The total marks awarded is 25 marks
