CHRIST Deemed University, Bengaluru – Scholarships

Christ Deemed University offers various types of scholarships to meritorious students who got admitted into the University.  They are:

Merit Scholarship:

This Merit Scholarship shall be granted to meritorious students based on their performance in the pre-entry level (qualifying examination), their performance in the mid-semester examinations and attendance.  This shall be continued for the second and subsequent years based on the performance in the academic examinations.

The Scholarship shall consist of a percentage refund of fees.  Each combination will be considered for two merit scholarships.  Combinations with more than one Section will be considered proportionately.

The fee refund/reduction under Merit Scholarship is elaborated below:

• Students in the fee range up to Rs.10,000/-: 50%
• Students in the fee range of Rs.10,000/-to Rs.25,000/- : 25% 
• Students in the fee range of above Rs.25,000/-: 10%

Scholarship for Financial Assistance:

Students under this scheme must apply to the office of Awards and Scholarships with supporting documents.  Students who enrol in the 1^st year degree of P.G.Course and economically weak but diligent, especially from Rural areas are eligible for grant of Financial Assistance.

Documents that are required to be submitted are (1) Evidence of Community (2) Valid Income Certificate from relevant Authority or any other documentary proof.

Applications so received by the Scholarship Committee shall be scrutinised.  Selected candidates will be invited for a final interview with or without a parent/guardian by the Scholarship Committee, which will decide eligibility of the candidates.

The Scholarship Committee recommends the percentage of concession for different categories as follows:

• Self-Financing Courses: 0-50%        
• Others: 0.90%

Candidates seeking financial assistance under this scheme are required to execute a bond to the effect that he/she will refund the scholarship amount if he/she leaves the University in between the course period.

For subsequent years, candidates must approach the Office of Awards and Scholarships from 30^th November to 22^nd December and applications duly completed in all respects must be submitted to the Office by the 20^th of January of the next year for scrutiny and further processing.

Installment Facility:

Students who are financially unable to pay their fee in one instalment can avail this facility by submitting the prescribed application form available in the Office of Admissions before the stipulated time.  This Instalment facility shall be applicable only for the total fee is above Rs.10,000/-.  Candidates need to pay the fee within the prescribed time in installments granted.
