Management Admission Test (MAT) is an entrance exam conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for management courses like MBA in B-Schools across India. The test is all about testing the aptitude and language skills of the candidate. Candidates can find the MAT 2025 test pattern in this article. Questions of the MAT 2025 exam will be given from sections like DATA Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Language Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, and Indian and Global Environment. The following chart gives you a glance of the number of questions and time allotted for each section and marks allotted for each question in the MAT 2025 exam. 

 

MAT 2025 Exam Pattern:                      

  1. a) Mode of Exam: Pen & Paper-based test (PBT) and Computer-based test (CBT)
  2. b) The duration of the test is 150 minutes.
  3. c) There are a total of 200 questions in the question paper divided into five sections.
  4. d) Subjects: Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Language Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Indian and Global Environment.
  5. e) Each section consists of 40 questions.
  6. f) All questions are multiple-choice questions with four options.
  7. g) Each question carries 1 mark.
  8. h) Negative Marking:¼ marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Section Wise MAT 2025 Exam Pattern

There will be 5 sections viz. language comprehension, mathematical skills, data analysis and sufficiency, intelligence and critical reasoning and Indian and Global Environment. Aspirants can check section-wise preparation tips below:

Language Comprehension

  • A total number of questions in this section will be 40.
  • This section of reading comprehension is aimed at judging the comprehending and reading skills of the candidates.
  • To understand the passage, regular reading practice is required to crack the same.
  • The time suggested being taken to solve this part is 30 minutes.

Intelligence and Critical Reasoning

  • This section will consist of 40 questions of 1 mark each.
  • It will test the logical and critical reasoning of all the candidates.
  • It includes topics like Data Arrangement, Blood Relations, Series and Sequences and Critical Reasoning, Direction Sense, Input/output analysis, Coding and Decoding.

Data Analysis and Sufficiency

  • This section targets to test the data interpretation skills of the candidates in regards to diagrams, reports and other such factual data.
  • This section contains 40 questions of 1 mark each.
  • Questions in this section are based on Direction Sense, input/output analysis, Coding and Decoding, Data Arrangement, Blood Relations.
  • The questions here would again be calculation intensive. The time suggested to be taken to complete this section is 35 minutes.
